Wow, I’m sincerely surprised. I thought Tebow would stay and Bradford would sign pro.
Tebow and Bradford will compete against each other once again.
Great for college football.
I thought Bradford was gone for sure. So you got Bradford, Tebow, McCoy and maybe undocumented worker Mark Sanchez back at USC.
I apologize for the Mark Sanchez joke it was wrong and offensive but I just really hate USC.
There. Fixed it. No charge! :-)
One could take it to mean nothing more than that he's a b@$tard, and embarassed to show his BC....
You have to admit he's a damned good QB, though.

Surprised that Bradford is staying....but then again, Oklahoma is loaded with talent and can challenge again for a national championship...
...and Bradford wont have to play for the Lions...because he was the sure first overall pick had he came out
I sincerely apologize for laughing. It was wrong for me to laugh and insensitive.....
At least you didn’t call him a “dirty sanchez”
Fair enough! LOL
Yes I do. But hopefully he'll be like Matt Leinart and actually suck.
Really, they are losing the vast majority of their and all of their "O"-line. Admittedly that program always has top notch talent but let's not get carried away. Florida returns 20 starters. There is the next national champion.
As an Oklahoman, an OU grad (2x’s), I kind of feel like what does it matter. We’ve gone to five (5) bowl games, and lost five (5) straight. I almost, ALMOST, think that TX should have gone instead of OU.
I cannot figure out why we cannot execute/perform in the big games, or why we seem to get out-coached.
I’m not sure it’s all that great to say you got to go to five major bowl games in the last five years, when you also know that you lost everyone of them. Heavy thing to be hanging around your neck.
More bad news for you. All their running backs and stud safety Taylor Mays is coming back to USC too.
Now on a different note -- Matt Stafford can't be happy. He's probably doomed now to be picked by the Lions at Number One.
I predicted Gators-Sooners at the beginning of last year, and with Bradford returning I predict a rematch next year. Gators #1 and undefeated, playing undefeated OU in the BCS.
Gators win again, Tebow wins Heisman and his third national championship
Which is exactly why I was hoping Bradford would turn pro this year. Unless the new line can protect him he runs the risk of having a less than spectacular season--not to mention the risk of injury.
But he's a genuinely good kid and I will love watching him here for one more season.
Time will tell (about Sanchez). I'm leaning towards "system QB". This seems to be the MO for many Pete Carrol QB's. So far, Leinert has been a complete bust and Carson Palmer is IMHO overrated at best. Sanchez makes some very questionable decisions with the football. But admittedly, sometimes he does look very good.
Stafford should actually be jumping for joy... he just earned a few million extra dollars.
Quarterback is probably the only position where a star with some flaws can really benefit from another year in college.
It’s interesting to compare Bradford’s situation to Leinart. Leinart came back for his senior year and saw himself drop considerably as NFL teams and scouts “found” more and more holes in his game. Bradford will be losing several offensive linemen and both of his starting receivers (although he does return his stud TE). I question the decision to come back when he’s going to have less talent around him and looking at what happened to Leinart.
Biggest problem is that Stoops is returning too......
I usually get so angry when college basketball players turn pro after a year or so. There are so FEW players that suffer career ending injuries that it makes terrific sense to build your resume and basketball acumen playing with college talent you can dominate.
Football, on the other hand, is a completely different story. With every snap, paralysis is literally a risk. I applaud both Tebow and Bradford for fulling a commitment they made to their university. But, if I were there parent or counselor, I probably would have recommended they take their $15 million signing bonus and call it a day in college.
Todd McShay also said that Sanchez may even be the first signalcaller taken in the draft.
Developing...
Boomer Sooner!! (for those of you who are Okies)
And good for College Football. Can you imagine next year with two of the three biggest QBs coming back? Great news for TV and football fans alike. We’ll see who Harrell is throwing to next year at Texas Tech or who OK State will be bringing in and the SEC and Big 12 will be hotter than ever.
If Bradford came out this year, wouldn't he have had a good chance of going #1 overall?
You mean there is no good WR out there for the Lions to pick?
Good decision. He and Tebow and McCoy can mature a little more before going to the NFL. Unless they are from really suffering families or are really poor students, these athletes gain from an extra year or two on campus.
Good thing, he is a young man with not much experience there in the big 12. He needs to play against some real defenses.
No, I predict Bradford will be nowhere near Heisman like next year, losing the O-line,etc. And surely they will have to play someone with better defenses next year. One of the Gators said Bradford never got his shirt dirty this year, I bet he does next year.
The Gators lost only 11 seniors, no starters I think, at least not on defense. They should be pretty solid next year, never can tell in the SEC though what will happen.
Teebow, though one of the greatest college QB’s of all time, won’t ever play a down in the NFL.
I’ve seen others who don’t think Tebow is really NFL material, college performance notwithstanding. I don’t know enough about football much less the fine differences bewtwen college/NFL to know why that is. IIRC, Favre didn’t get many kudos right out of college but managed to have a pretty good NFL career. From all I’ve heard about Tebow, even if he doesn’t have an NFL career ahead, his personal character and qualities will take him far.
>> I almost, ALMOST, think that TX should have gone instead of OU.
Well, as a diehard Texas alumni I really wish Texas had gone to the BCS championship, and I’m disappointed they didn’t. But as an honest impartial observer, I can’t say the BCS formula made the wrong choice picking OU over UT.
>> I cannot figure out why we cannot execute/perform in the big games, or why we seem to get out-coached.
We fans and they pundits have long said the same about Texas. Our loss to Tech was, IMO, a coaching loss.
>> Im not sure its all that great to say you got to go to five major bowl games in the last five years, when you also know that you lost everyone of them.
Chin up. Of course we’re all partisan, but I have to say I saw a lot of awesome college football this year. There were many good — no, make that GREAT — players wearing jerseys from a variety of schools. I’m proud of all of those kids. And I have to remind myself (especially when I’m swearing at them during the game!) that they’re just that — youngsters, relatively speaking. They’re a credit to themselves, their schools, their families, no matter who they play for.
FRegards
And Colt McCoy is back too. They could all meet again in the Downtown Athletic Club next season.
Tebow will have the advantage. OU’s offense will be almost completely gutted. Florida is returning the majority of its starters.
No way will the Lions draft a QB first. They will go with OL and set the bar with salary for all the other picks. Now, if Sanchez or Stafford fall to 20, they might pull the trigger. But the Lions have a better chance to get a better QB next year.
Palmer was pretty good until he got his knee capped. Since then he hasn’t seemed all that spectacular. Cassel has finally shined and may prove to be of value this next free agency or until defenses figure him out.
That’s cool but, when the BCS starts voting on who plays in the NCG, remember OU has lost 5 BCS games in a row. (Texas has won 3 in a row)
“Well see who Harrell is throwing to next year at Texas Tech”
Harrell was a Senior.
My opinion is that along with all the other considerations, the NFL experience of former teammate Malcolm Kelley (injured and notsogood at the Redskins) who went out last year had something to do with it.
Next year's Heisman race is looking to be one for the ages: Bradford, Tebow, Colt McCoy, and whoever else is that good.
Next year’s OL looks to be pretty salty. It’ll be guys who have been around awhile and who got some playing time this year.
We can certainly hope. Of course it’s not like Florida with their 20 or so returning starters. (Not sure about the number but people act like the entire team is back.)
Gresham and Williams coming back will be a big plus for Sam.
The NFL may last a decade if you’re signed and not cut or injured; an education lasts for generations.
oops, my bad. I thought I heard he was an underclassmen as well as Crabtree.
Hopefully Dallas will get themselves a good backup finally in the draft.
