Back in 1984 everybody cut "Footloose. Just admit it. We all did the dance. We all knew every move. And we all had a crush on Kevin Bacon.

Now, 25 years later, with the news that Zac Efron is slated to star in the 2010 remake (and Bacon considering a cameo), we look back at the original cast members and the blockbuster hits, surprising career twists, as well as tragedy that have followed in their post-'Footloose' careers.

I can’t recall seeing him in much of anything since Something Wild.

I read where he said something about the "sacrifice" of not living in Hollywood cuts him out of a lot of movies. These days he mostly runs his little playhouse (Purple Rose theatre) in Chelsea Mi and lives like a normal guy. I can't help but respect that.

I once saw him being interviewed by Bill Moyers and told Moyers that he wouldn't answer questions about politics.

I wonder when they’re going to start remaking those cruddy 80s ski movies where the blond bully ski kid and his gang o’ buddies harass the geek who ends up skiing in the big race and beating them to get the girl. When they do, I hope that one blond jerk guy from every 80s movie does a cameo so he can come in and sweep the leg.

I like Kevin Bacon. He’s a talented actor and musician and he seems to have his head on straight. Married once and still (for 20+ years) to Kyra Sedgewick and has two kids.

The original movie was a good movie for the TARGET audience, teens and young adults. I’m sure he had fun... especially sidling up to Lori Singer. And if you’re a guy who can’t dance? (Hint: Me) Yeah, a little jealousy can seep through your veins from time to time. ;-)

I wanna know if Zack will be doing his own dancing or if he is going to have a *dancer-double*, as Bacon did (btw, he was the blonde guy from the ZZ Top video, “Sharp Dressed Man”) — funny, but those two big dance movies out at the same time, “Footloose” and “Flashdance” both had someone else do the actual dancing for the stars of the movie.

Yeah, worse movie ever made. When I watched that movie I had no idea there was a homo rape scene in it.

LOL! Better off Dead. I watched that movie +/- 103 times. How many movies did that guy play a teenage villain in? I didn’t even think about it at that time, I just always assumed if the movie had a teenage jock villain, it’d be him.
