Eleanor Roosevelt was ridiculed far and wide for her homely appearance. Looking back at her pictures I would say Eleanor made Camilla Parker Bowles look good.
I've seen her wedding photos. She can do better.
Explain to me what being sweetness and light gets you? The satisfaction of being right? AND a loser?
Church dress:
Well, she has a couple of problems. Someone must have told her once that a dress cut that way is flattering to her. It’s not. If you are a bit of a pear, high-waisted with pleats or gathers is just going to accentuate it and make you into a bell. Her other problem is she doesn’t know how to carry herself. So the dress problem is compounded by the slouchy walking. I suggest she gets a better stylist to help her pick styles that flatter her, and the cut is more important than whether she likes big prints. The fabric was OK, the cut made it worse. For the carrying herself, if she objects to a charm-school type teacher then she should take ballet classes to gain some poise.
The inaugural ball dress:
Again the dress isn’t too bad. This cut is more flattering to her. It would have looked better I think with 2 thinner straps than the one. She needed a wispy lace evening shawl to drap over her arms so she’d have something to do and not have her arms just hanging there. It looks like she is either not used to being in evening attire or never learned to stand still even if your feet hurt. She is constantly shifting her weight, pulling at the dress, doesn’t know what to do with her arms/hands, etc.
She really needs a coach to help her with this stuff because she has a multitude of events to attend where she will be pretty much just standing or sitting there while someone else speaks, not to mention the appearances she will be making on her own.
At least the Empress is wearing clothes. I don’t care what she wears, although the black widow hourglass outfit was omninous and funny.
I thought it was apparent. Worrying about Michelles wardrobe is the least of our worries.
I'm not a fan of the ragged look.
In fact if she had to have chiffon, do a layer of chiffon over silk or taffeta.
That would have been classic. The "V" shape of her wedding gown bodice was very flattering also. At least she has lowered her hemline.
I disagree. The First Lady is crucial in dictating the social tone of the White House, and represents us to the world. Her charm, poise, fashion sense (or lack thereof) is important.
WOW! I just spit out my coffee... you need to post this picture of MO and the grinch on the http://totallylookslike.com/ site. This is awesome!
Who's worried? We're just following their rules for manners. It's time the left finds out what the "hot seat" is like. Conservatives are too nice. They hate Coulter because she's honest and blunt. Lady freepers can be also. They'll get heat politically too.
