Bruce Springsteen Suspended for Crotch Slide

Posted on 02/03/2009 3:55:49 AM PST by darkness78

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/matthew-filipowicz/bruce-springsteen-suspend_b_163019.html

An otherwise magnificent Super Bowl was marred by an ugly incident in the half time show as rocker Bruce Springsteen slid crotch-first into a cameraman. After assaulting the innocent cameraman, the malicious Springsteen can be seen, on video, laughing maniacally.

I didn’t watch the half-time show. It sounds like I should be glad I missed it. Nothing’s worse than an old geeser trying to stay youthful.

Is there an off-color incident every time there’s a Super Bowl?

Well, that old geezer sure looks alright for his age...even though he's an ass clownic punk!

I also noticed he's definitely lost his voice.

I have crossed Bruce Springsteen off my list long ago.

I watched the entire game which turned out to be worth watching. However I made a point of avoiding the halftime show because I knew he would be featured in it.

Springsteen is your typical 0bama enabler. In your face and not ashamed of it. I'm sure 0 had that trademark smirk on his face when he saw this, just like he did when that idiot gave that racist “prayer at the inauguration.

What was sad was the utter glee he showed while prancing and acting like Tom Jones on steroids. Why was that sad? I don’t know. It just was.

Nothing’s worse than an old geeser trying to stay youthful.

"Why don't they all just f-f-fade away..."

Not too many "rockers" (and I use the term quite loosely for Springsteen and Bon Jovi) can pull off the genre once they get beyond the point where they can still pass for angry youth. I suspect the ones that actually can do it simply have better acting abilities - and press agents - than their peers.

Building a fan base with a lamentably low threshold of expectations and leeching onto a political movement sure can do wonders, though.

Mike Jagger still does a pretty good job of "prancing" these days. Not bad for a REALLY old geezer rocker.

I switched over to TVLand at halftime and watched an old Andy Griffith Show. When it finished, I switched back just in time for the second half kickoff.

Springsteen's Homage to Pete Seeger
By Tom Moon

World Cafe, April 25, 2006 - On the new collection We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions, Bruce Springsteen honors the folk music tradition that has inspired many of his own compositions over the years. All the tracks on the new album are standards closely associated with folk icon Pete Seeger.

Springsteen assembled large ensemble of acoustic musicians to flavor the proceedings with everything from accordion to tuba. Rock critic Tom Moon talks with host David Dye about why he reacted so strongly and positively towards this latest offering by The Boss.

NYT Writer Corrects Record: Pete Seeger 'Only' 40 Years Late in Denouncing Stalin
By P.J. Gladnick
2007-09-02

The New York Times has now corrected [1] a "smear" about Pete Seeger being 50 years too late in denouncing Stalin. Thanks to the intrepid research of Times reporter Daniel J. Wakin, the record has now been set straight. Pete Seeger was only about 40 years too late in criticizing Stalin.
