An otherwise magnificent Super Bowl was marred by an ugly incident in the half time show as rocker Bruce Springsteen slid crotch-first into a cameraman. After assaulting the innocent cameraman, the malicious Springsteen can be seen, on video, laughing maniacally.

I have crossed Bruce Springsteen off my list long ago.

I watched the entire game which turned out to be worth watching. However I made a point of avoiding the halftime show because I knew he would be featured in it.

Not too many "rockers" (and I use the term quite loosely for Springsteen and Bon Jovi) can pull off the genre once they get beyond the point where they can still pass for angry youth. I suspect the ones that actually can do it simply have better acting abilities - and press agents - than their peers.

Building a fan base with a lamentably low threshold of expectations and leeching onto a political movement sure can do wonders, though.
