Here's a pic (if hot linking is not prohibited) of the V45 my friend rode. It's not his but it looks like it with the exception of the lowers for the fairing are missing. That and he replaced the stock pipes with a Kerker header. Talk about distinctive sounds...

I'm a Harley guy, through and through (for around 35 years), but I'd REALLY like to ride one like that black one sometime.
That thing looks like pure "Biker Viagra" to an old greybeard like me! LOL

I got the grey in my beard as well. And I agree. The
Yamaha FJR-1300A. Sport touring dream machine. It's closest Euro counterpart (in form and function) "that I've seen" is a Beemer; don't recall the model no., but it costs more. And for the record I don't mind, or trash HD's. Don't care for them myself, but I can see their appeal to others. But I first learned to ride on a Yamaha 90 way back, and have been a fan ever since.

I guess comfort is a personal thing.
On my Harleys Id be kicked back comfortably, feet extended in front, Hands and arms at a comfortable position. It was similar to setting in an easy chair. 500-600 miles a day was pure pleasure and comfortable. Id arrive and be ready to go.
When Id ride a cafe racer type bike my arms were stretched out in front, by feet tucked up under my seat and I was leaning forward. It might be great for a race track, but I didnt think much of it for highways.
