No, he blew it like a rookie, and he won’t recover as in getting back to be taken seriously for an office above Senator.
His only hope is Webb continues to come off as the stark raving lunatic he has always been since his nine month stint working for Reagan’s administration.
Agreed that Allen is likely out of the running for the White House.
But I could easily see him returning as Senator, or better yet, Governor.
We’ll see. but the simple fact was ‘meccaca’ was easily swatted down if he had any real political instincts.
JMHO.
And, like I said above, the mishandling of that was more Wadhams than Allen.
20 years of watching Allen and his campaigns. That one was unlike any other. Wadhams was the difference.
It’s obviously not this year. And I don’t have specifics. Just a gut feeling.
