Ammos listed for this rumored ban include the .50BMG, 7.62x39mm Soviet, 7.62x51mm NATO, .308 Winchester, 5.56 NATO and .223 Remington. Additionally, we're hearing that an expansion of this proposed ban might be broadened to include the 6.8mm SPC, 9mm Parabellum, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP- among others.
In other words, State Department officials may be floating a trial balloon to see if there are howls of protest, or whimpers of compliance. Canadian elected officials who have directed this information to me say the move seems to be motivated by "emboldened" anti-gun officials who think they have a kindred spirit in President Obama.

Between military consumption & this potential ban on imports it’ll be near impossible to obtain .308 win.
For an administration that does not shrink from Censoring political speech protected by the First Amendment, it cannot be much of a step to interfere with Second Amendment rights.
You can’t find .30 right now for that matter.
I have 300 round of .308, mostly federal. I sold my .308 AR10 a few months back.
I wish I could say that this is a surprise... but alas- our Republic is on its way out to the dustpan of history.
What the hell does the State Department have to do with commerce and bans??
About half the 9x19 and .45 ACP that I see available is imported.
Note to all:
Brass is reusable.
Further note: your gun is useless without cartridges. An attack on ammunition imports is directly and intentionally an attack on your right to keep and bear arms.
Hillary is running the joint.
The Obamaramous should remember that the American Revolution started over the government trying to seize weapons.
But I guess that is what his “Civilian Defense Force” is all about.
And it sounds like cwII will be over taxes and guns.
How I wish that weren’t true. But it is. the barbarians are at the gate. Stand To.
Soon relaoding will be a huge home based business.
30 carbine or the bigger stuff (e.g., 30-06)....I just bought some -06, had a flyer that was selling surplus bandoliers of 30 carbine with strippers and cardboards).
If you lived in CA I’d make you an offer for em.
I want to get another 1000 rounds of 7.62x39. Everyone is out. Does anyone have a source where its still available and reasonably priced?
‘30 carbine or the bigger stuff (e.g., 30-06)....I just bought some -06, had a flyer that was selling surplus bandoliers of 30 carbine with strippers and cardboards).’
I picked up a AR-15 just yesterday, and the gun shop just finished selling off 18,000 rounds of 30-06 in ‘strips’.
I’ve seen the ad in cheaperthandirtdotcom for the .30 with strippers a ‘silencer’ cardboard...Cabela’s is now offering .30 in 300 round ‘ammo boxes’ according to the email I got from them yesterday as well. $178 per box of 300 rounds.
So...everyone should be howling to their elected officials, from the House to the Senate, all the way to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Let them know that this will NOT be acceptable to law abiding US Citizens, and that it should be dropped, immediately.
If they are just floating a trial balloon, we’ll shoot it down. IF they are wishing to proceed, they’ll likely have to rethink it.
It’s time to take back the country.
