Perhaps this will lead to the condition being taken more seriously. I certainly hope so.

Hmmm the scientist/medical world does not understand something and then they call the patient delusional
Had that happen when I was young being called delusional....ended up the illness was a severe case of Graves disease.
The treatment keeps one alive but not fun to deal with living on sythetic thyroid meds and no actual gland.
I knew another woman who was actually commmitted to a mental institution untill someone got clued in that she had Graves.

I would like to say thank you to guys, this is the first time I have posted anything about Morgellons and not been totally rediculed, and thank you for those that sent me private emails.
I am very sick, have 3 children, oldest 11, I am trying to hang on long enough to see them through early adulthood, but in 3 years of fighting this my health is pretty bad, Morgellons is life shortening, I am struggling like hell to provide for my family, to even show up to work each day, but so far I am, I am proving hard to kill so far. My goal is to try to live 10 more years, but I know in reality unless the CDC study that is going on finds something there is no way I will live more than a few more years. I just hope they are really looking seriously in this study.

Prayers for you. I have always wondered if this condition has ties to some kind of bio terrorism attempt on our country since it’s appearance was in 2001. Is it happening all over the world? Wonder what the concentrations are. Just curious.

My mother has Graves disease.
For her it causes a blistering and oozing rash. It is *very* painful and debilitating. Thankfully, they now have a diagnosis and when she has outbreaks the treatment seems effective. It takes more than a week to clear up.
Yep! And...Her condition was considered “psychological” as well.
While there may be some case where politics trumps all beyond any redemption (Mussolini made the trains run on time), imho Joni Mitchell's politics calls to mind the case of a Communist who was a marine on Guadalcanal. His pals used to comment that it didn't matter if he was red because he was never yellow...

Anyone who would make fun or joke around about someone going through such suffering is an absolute jerk and deserves the same fate.That’s terrible.

I won't go into the details, but I've been going to and from the doctor for years for different things and it turns out it's my thyroid, too.
