I will have had Morgellons for 3 years this May, it’s all I can do to hold my job down to support my wife and children, it is sheer hell, there are things worse than death, for some reason, and you’d have to have this, there is a since of horror that comes with this, it’s far more than just being sick, being sick I can handle, but what Morgellons does is “unreal”.

“They paved her epiderm, and put up a liver spot...”

From Wiki:

Morgellons (also called Morgellons disease or Morgellons syndrome) is a name given to a proposed infectious condition characterized by a range of cutaneous (skin) symptoms including crawling, biting, and stinging sensations; finding fibers on or under the skin; and persistent skin lesions (e.g., rashes or sores). Current scientific consensus holds that Morgellons is not a new disorder and is instead a new and misleading name for known illnesses. Most doctors, including dermatologists and psychiatrists, regard Morgellons as a manifestation of known medical conditions, including delusional parasitosis, although some health professionals say that an infectious cause could one day be found. Illnesses such as delusional parasitosis can be serious and debilitating, but tested and effective treatments exist.

There are some people who, for whatever reason, I can look past their political beliefs and appreciate their talents, too. But then there are some who are so obnoxious about it that they make it impossible to look past.

She is one of just a few true artists of our time. It’s bigger than politics and bigger than SHE is, really.

The muse has been pushing her since she was about 6!

Imagine having all that music in you and it’s only a SIDELINE to pay the bills!

I wish her well.

Loved her music in the past. Haven’t heard any recently. Although I’m sure I do not agree with her politics she has always been one of my favorites from the 70’s.

Whatever, I have it too, it’s far more widespread than you know, trust me, and pray that you and your family aren’t visited by it, because it is worse than anything you could possibly dream up, and I’m not joking, I have known some to commit suicide over this, others to abandone homes losing everything sure the home was infected with parasites, for once, just stop and think and stop making jokes. Morgellons is horryfying. My pastor made me promise I wouldn’t take my own life, there was a point that I was very tempted. I have experienced things I coulnd’t even describe on this board for fear of redicule, so go ahead, get all your jokes in and have a good time, I’m sure all of the families with children with this who are going through sheer hell and being mocked by the doctors sworn to help them will find comfort in your humor.

The thing is, you should be very worried, because they number of new families reporting in for the first time on the many forums seeking help and comfort I am involved in is astounding. Most would never admit what they have publically. Good for Joni, she has helped these families by merely admitting the truth.

Actually, Sting, a latter-day singer-songwriter, I think rightly, gives that distinction to John Dowland, a contemporary of Shakespeare and Elizabeth I.

Still she was (and is) an exemplar of the type, and I’ll second everyone on the thread who likes her in spite of her politics.

Hmmm the scientist/medical world does not understand something and then they call the patient delusional

Had that happen when I was young being called delusional....ended up the illness was a severe case of Graves disease.

The treatment keeps one alive but not fun to deal with living on sythetic thyroid meds and no actual gland.

I knew another woman who was actually commmitted to a mental institution untill someone got clued in that she had Graves.

CONSUMER ADVISORY: COLLOIDAL SILVER
http://nccam.nih.gov/health/alerts/silver/index.htm
The above link added by ADMIN so you can make good decisions!

NutraSilver has been tested by Nelson Labs, an FDA-registered/ISO lab for toxicity. The results demonstrate zero toxicity using live mice using GLP under FDA part 21. The results systemic results for potential toxic effects injecting live mice. At the end of the 72 hour test period, none of the mice indicated any signs of toxicity. The NOEL set by the EPA is 10 grams of silver in a life-time. Taking NutraSilver as directed would require approximately 40 years to reach the lower end of silver toxicity. NutraSilver has been taken by millions of people who owe their lives to it because NutraSilver killed the water-borne pathogens in their drinking water.

Also, the ‘kill rates’ for some of the most harmful bacterium yeast, mold and viruses demonstrated astonishing results. As an example, 8.8 BILLION eColi cells we killed in 30 minutes at a rate of 99.999% with only one drop of NutraSilver.

These lab reports can be seen in their entirety at:

http://www.nutrasilver.com/content/view/49/170/

Interesting enough, Cliff Michelson has used the product at one time or another. Dr. Staninger currently lists NutraSilver in her treatment protocols and many of her patients.

Dr. James Mathews, MD who is himself a Morgellons sufferer, also gives NutraSilver to his patients and all of them are healing nicely.

The interesting thing is that when Morgellons patients use NutraSilver as directed, they get healed very quickly. NutraSilver does not care if you understand or agree with it, it just heals. Most people gain their energy back within two weeks, brain-fog goes in the same time frame. Those with lesions generally have their lesions healed normally within 3 weeks.

THIS PRODUCT IS MANUFACTURED IN MEXICO.
DR. STANINGER - WHEN REACHED 10/12/2007 SAID SHE
DOES NOT INCLUDE NUTRA SILVER IN HER CURRNET PROTOCOL.

I would like to say thank you to guys, this is the first time I have posted anything about Morgellons and not been totally rediculed, and thank you for those that sent me private emails.

I am very sick, have 3 children, oldest 11, I am trying to hang on long enough to see them through early adulthood, but in 3 years of fighting this my health is pretty bad, Morgellons is life shortening, I am struggling like hell to provide for my family, to even show up to work each day, but so far I am, I am proving hard to kill so far. My goal is to try to live 10 more years, but I know in reality unless the CDC study that is going on finds something there is no way I will live more than a few more years. I just hope they are really looking seriously in this study.

My mother has Graves disease.

For her it causes a blistering and oozing rash. It is *very* painful and debilitating. Thankfully, they now have a diagnosis and when she has outbreaks the treatment seems effective. It takes more than a week to clear up.

Yep! And...Her condition was considered “psychological” as well.

Joni Mitchel's gift of melody is a treasure to humankind.

While there may be some case where politics trumps all beyond any redemption (Mussolini made the trains run on time), imho Joni Mitchell's politics calls to mind the case of a Communist who was a marine on Guadalcanal.  His pals used to comment that it didn't matter if he was red because he was never yellow...

Put ‘em in a freedom museum *

Her condition was considered “psychological” as well.

When the doctor decides they don't know what it is, they label it "psychological."

I won't go into the details, but I've been going to and from the doctor for years for different things and it turns out it's my thyroid, too.

I’m sorry for your sufferings. I, too, have two auto-immune conditions and a few years back I decided to put my trust in holistic type healing. Have you tried acupuncture (through someone who was brought up in Eastern medicine)? My doc is a chiropractor as well, and while I still have the conditions (although their punch has lessened), it is the stress with dealing with poor health that has been helped immensely. It took me two years to see an acupuncturist after it was recommended to me, and I’m sure sorry I waited so long. Maybe this type of medicine would help you too! Never give up. Keep looking for answers.

Are there clinical trials available for this? This diesase should be brought more to the forefront-some foundation,or special fund that can be established to fund research and development of a vaccine or something to fight it. Maybe some type of genetic research.....

It's scary, what's out there ready to strike. I'd never heard of moyomoya disease until my sister was diagnosed with it it and died from it. It's very rare and mostly, but not completely, confined to the asian population. For my sister to have gotten it remains a mystery.
