I have been reading a lot of the anti-Palin comments on Free Republic lately. For one I find them very depressing. These people usually start out with comments like "I like Governor Palin, BUT I think the media has ruined her". or bring up Tina Fey. Or some other nonsense about Palin not being able to win states "outside of the bible belt". As if red states and blue states are graved in stone.
I think we need to stand up for Sarah and rally behind her.
It is depressing. But the best thing that can happen for Sarah Palin right now is for her to continue to lay low. Historically, she would be better off falling half-way down the list of potential GOP candidates. and then make her comeback in 2011.
That night at the convention was amazing. I believe this is the speech that kicked off a new conservative movement in America...time will tell..
As well as pot shots from disgruntled members of DC.
Cheers!
Response from a woman:
1. She is a mother.
2. She is hot!
3. She knows how to shoot guns.
4. She believes in life.
5. She is hot!
6. She can feed her family without going to the grociery store.
7. She has ankles (compared to democrat wemyn).
8. Have you seen her in a bikini?
9. She is conservative.
10. Feel free to add on. By the way, did I mention that she in no way resembles Hitlery and Madam Half-bright?
Sometimes you get lucky. I’m glad Rudy went long and they didn’t have time to show the video that night. I think her entry on to the stage caught everybody, including the media, off guard.
The media can’t ruin her. Palin is a quick study. She’ll come out ‘tan, rested, and ready’ in ‘12!
Inferring, correctly, that she was not studied or ready in 08. Precisely why we should NOT "rally" behind her. We should wait for her to produce first.
Huck.
She was put in a very uncomfortable position in 2008. I think she has a ton of potential. I can’t wait to see her be HER OWN CANDIDATE.
Hey there, stick to your guns and screw the nay sayers with regards to Palin. These are just the same people who backed mcnutts and the rooooooty and williard. They are not even close to conservative.Good Luck.
The key for Sarah is to articulate a clear vision for America. It’ll be interesting to see how she goes about that WITHOUT the McLame shackles.
This “damaged goods” argument does not fly because the media will try their damnedest to destroy any Republican candidate. They're trying it again right now with Bobby Jindal. So it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to declare a candidate dead because the media has hurt them.
Good post.
People have a short memory and nothing changes faster than the political scene. Palin will have as much of a chance as she ever did, whether the wizards of smart on FR or anywhere else agree or not.
What IMHO would do her a lot of good is to crank out a couple of books. One, this would position her as more substantive and two, she’ll earn a bunch of money for her family and gain publicity. The first should be lighter, about her campaign experience. The second, in a year or two should lay out her conservative views and philosophy. This would become the rallying point for what comes next, much like Obamas books did for him.
When you say, “Sarah Palin,” I say, “Is it 2012 yet?”
If you pay attention, you will notice its the same few folks posting the same anti-Palin drivel on every thread. The astroturf campaign against her is in hyperdrive.
Frankly, I’m really tired of Dhimmirat-lite candidates on the Republican ticket. Palin is the strongest Conservative candidate I’ve seen in 20 years. If you can’t see that, you probably have been receiving government benefits far too long.
I agree no matter who run in GOP media will go after them. Media & Democrats are afraid of Palin.
She was only reason I voted for McCain and he is rotten for standing up for her. Shows what kind of man he is!
I hope Palin runs in 2012....we will support her 10000000%. She has more guts than any of them in Congress.
RUN SARAH RUN 2012! She will put all of them to shame in Congress!
The main reason I went to vote for the Republican Presidential candidate last November was because of Palin....that being said, I had MANY reasons NOT to vote for the ‘rats.
Huck, BS.
Pelosi will be out of the picture as Speaker so that gives OUR GUY the top slot until we can nominate a new President and VP.
No reason we can't get a couple of governors in those jobs.
Then we start rounding up the Democrats like Barnie Frank, Chris Dodd, and others, who brought on the crisis, and trying them for treason.
We aren’t going to let the media select our candidate next election either.
