Put your money where your mouth is

So now what?

TOPICS: Miscellaneous
KEYWORDS: activism; cwii; vanity
I have read every blog and FR postings and realize that the American public is FED UP....so where do we go from here? I suggest that we get a movement going to march on DC en masse on July 4th.....Independence Day. We can't take the tack that "what good would it do" if no one does anything we are screwed.

First, I’d legitimately like to know - what good would it do?

The first thing we do is support the challengers to the RINO’s that voted for the porkulus bill.

I think Glenn Beck is on to something with all of these ‘meet ups’ for his ‘We Surround Them’ show on Friday.

I’ve signed up at meetup.com for the one in my area and I’ve never done anything like that before. At the very least, it’ll put you in a room of like-minded people. Then, you can see where that takes you.

I’m taking money “off the grid” so to speak. Granted I can’t live totally under the radar but I can minimize my financial footprint.

Starve the beast.

I hate to say it, but unless we can abolish the Federal Reserve, we are stuck with the Dems moving to the left at Mach II and the Reps moving to the left at Mach I.

There is something much bigger than economic theories at play here.

Naaaa. The travel would put too much money into the economy, and thereby, into revenues for those cheating their own Nation. ...no money for the corporate thieves (bailouts), their preferred foreign employees (bailouts), manhaters and or other bureaucrats.

;-)

Stop buying, and become more self-sufficient.

The natives are getting restless. I copied some of the titles from my local fishwrap letters to the editor yesterday. (Voice of the people)

“Constitution places limit on what Congress can do”

“Elected officials show they do not work for us”

“Liberal agenda ignores long history of failures”

“Give cash to citizens? Better check your math”

“Government gets ready to make decisions for us”

You said — “I have read every blog and FR postings and realize that the American public is FED UP....so where do we go from here?”

Ummm.., you sound like that guy on a commercial that I saw a long while back. He was on the computer and hollered to his wife, “I got to the end of the Internet!”

And he just sat there, not knowing what to do! LOL...

I would say, if you managed the feat of reading very blog and FR posting on this board — you deserve to be *recognized* by the Guinness World Book of Records.

I would put in for that one, right now... :-) I think it might come under the category of “Amazing Feats”...

I feel the same as a Michigander.

It doesn’t help that our conservative congressman was tossed overboard by the GOP in the last election. However our shiny new representative’s first claim to fame was paying the highest penalty ever in the state of Michigan for campaign finance violations.

...got distracted here and didn't reply to that in my last comment. The less we buy, the sooner we'll have better leadership in business (constituents) and government (politicians).

If I remember correctly, a handful of people did something, and a revolution was born. I as well am not doing nothing, but it is the collective will of all to do it together that is going to make the difference. What that something is, as of right now, is unknown. We must decide to fight or roll over. It is rapidly becoming too late....

I was merely pointing out that when a small group of people do something, when the majority is in agreement, it would seem as though many more would come and show support. I am going to a tax revolt in March. The way they have been growing in the last 2 weeks as far as attendence goes, and the many more that are being planned, coupled with the huge numbers of people who are losing jobs, getting taxed to death and the number of states reminding washington of their sovereignty, it seem as though there are many sparks with a whole lotta dry tinder around. The american people, as a collective whole, will decide what happens next....

Oregon FReepers are starting to get to gether and discuss how we can get our message out. There is a Nation-wide tea party on Tax day, find the closest one to you and go to it. Get bumper stickers that express your opinions. When liberals around you say something stupid, speak up about it, stop letting such idiocy slide. Be proud to be conservative, and laugh at liberals, right to their faces, that drives them bonkers. Post on Liberal websites like slate and call the fools fools. Back you your statements with facts and links.

There are ways to fight. The first and most important is to stop being silent.

the street don’t mean sh*t
If elected officials believed as you do they wouldn't be pushing so hard for gun control. What do you suppose they know that you don't? They remember, as do we that in 1963, 160 grains from "the street" as you put it, changed the world. It's not pretty but it's true.

The ballot box is a known quantity and is the currently accepted framework from which to implement change. It is not however, thanks to the brilliance of the Founding Fathers, the only one. The Declaration of Independence is quite clear on this. It is governmental fear of the unknown quantity you refer to as "the street" that prevents an even greater degree of corruption and willful disregard of the electorate than we are seeing now.

That fear is healthy especially in a government that grows less and less accountable to those granting them authority.
