BRISTOL, Conn. - Barack Obama picked North Carolina to defeat Louisville for the NCAA championship, a relatively safe selection for a trailblazing president.

SNIP..................................................................

“Now, for all the Tar Heels who are watching, I picked you last year — you let me down,” Obama said. “This year, don’t embarrass me in front of the nation, all right? I’m counting on you. I still got those sneakers you guys gave me.”

Oh, the irony in the face of those nice presents he gave the Prime Minister of England, the misspelled button to the Russians, etc.

Please, add to the list of Obama's embarrassments.

As a HUGE Carolina basketball fan, I’m offended by his arrogance.

This a**hat read the prime minister of Ireland’s speech from the teleprompter and did not even realize he was giving the wrong speech. He embarrasses the country daily.

What’s it say about a person when they can’t stand by a decision and they whine about the possible outcome being wrong—for something as trivial as basketball?!

Shouldn’t Obama have better things to do than worry about than his brackets?

...and to compensate, thanked himself for his own generosity. Nothing but humility on that man.

Now, short the Tarheels, they've been jinxed..

The irony in this my brother went to UofL and voted for zero. Smacked down by his prez, I love it.

No, he’s just trying to be ‘cool’... Hey, Mr. President, the election is over, you don’t need to worry about the ‘youth vote’ any more, now get on with running the country!

I have read that but can't find anything to confirm it. I wish it was on tape.

Obama Thanks Himself, Irish PM Repeats Speech in Teleprompter Meltdown

Irish Prime Minister Brian Cowen reads word for word a speech that Obama had just read from a teleprompter, while the president apparently thanked himself for the invitation.

But Cowen was 20 seconds into his second address when it dawned on him that he was giving word for word the speech that Obama had just read from the same teleprompter.

But, did Obama read the wrong speech? It doesn't say that.

I always thought that, unless they has a long-established favorite (i.e. if Zero had gone to UNC or if he was from North Carolina and was a long-time fan), presidents traditionally did not disclose their favorites in major sporting events.

I don't really care who he picks - I don't follow b-ball at all. It's the utter arrogance of this guy. Don't embarrass him like he's the most important man on the planet while at the same time he's embarrassing the U.S. with his political stupidity.
