Again, using a smartphone to make phone calls over the internet...where exactly are you saving $, since you're paying for your Skype calls AND for the internet bandwidth on the phone?
1. You save on HIGHER cell costs
2. You can save more if you are on the 3g network or wifi depending on your locale
Saving minutes monthly = saving $$$$ no matter how you slice it.
Some parents with teens will tell their kids to use skype to talk to each other.
You think that won’t be saving them serious coin?
Doesn’t make sense. Like I said, cell signal is more readily available than wifi...the only way it makes sense is if you’re always in a wifi hotspot.
I met a guy in Tobago in January who was using a skype-like service on his iPhone over the hotel’s wifi to call home to Scandinavia somewhere....less than a penny a minute.
Like I said, it only makes sense if you’re in a wifi hotspot...otherwise, you’re paying MORE
