I think not commenting and then (as someone suggested earlier) going to court on Monday morning to file child support papers would have sent the correct message. IMHO.
By the way, I'm assuming Bristol hasn't yet because if she had I'm sure they already would've shown up on ET, or TMZ or some other such publication or show.

But getting in a tit for tat with a teenager? It would have been much better for a family spokesman to state something like "The Palins are very sad to hear Levi's fabrications and distortions. That's all they have to say on the matter."
It shouldn't have been Sarah going out their and mudslinging. As a matter of fact, if one of the parents was going to do that, it should have been Todd defending his daughter!
A competent PR or political consulting firm wouldn't have issued ANY statement - slick or otherwise. It's one thing to defend YOURSELF from attacks on your personal integrity or policy decisions, but it's quite another to respond to critics of your teenage daughter, especially when those attacks are coming from her ex-boyfriend.
This is a family matter and Palin would have been wiser to take the high road and not have commented.
And it scares me to think Romney might be our next presidential candidate. Sigh.
On the other hand, if he is a Republican, I will defend him against the MSM, unlike them.
Actually, I read the “she is surrounded by trailer trash” comment as indicting all Alaskans, not the “outlaws”. Of course, I am not siding with this Levi Johnston character. Sorry if I misread it but I am so damn mad at the level of incompetence inside the beltway these days by the so-called “best and brightest”.
