How come I’m the last to know about these things?

Don't feel bad, I just found out as well.

Expert is an awful strong word lol.

More like a practitioner....”

From the time I was wee lad, I would watch with fascination as my mother prepared our meals. She cooked 3 meals a day from scratch. There were 5 of us kids so leftovers were never an issue. I was always amazed how she could make every dish with perfect consistency never measuring any ingredient.

Practitioner or master?

Your mother, like most southern women, was a master.

BTW..I love G.R.I.T.S. too.

That's me as well. Work, eat, sleep, be Daddy, repeat. That's pretty much my life.

I know that life, except no kiddos, but I sure as heck know the rest.

Which is why my vacation starts tomorrow at noon! Sharp. The gang at the office will think I am a ghost in the wind.

I designed and built this one nearly sixteen years ago. I’m just getting around to pulling up the carpets downstairs and putting hardwood and tile. Getting it ready to sell this spring. Too much house for me and two old cats.

My vacation starts Thursday morning when I get off work. Schedule’ll be pretty much the same, minus the work part.

"But good corn bread is still a challenge."

Use a cast iron pan. Put your heavy cast iron skillet into the oven when you turn it on to preheat. Make sure it is good and hot, and BE CAREFUL when you take it out (don't put it on your brand new countertop, like I did...). Grease it quickly with bacon grease, then pour your batter in, and put it back into the oven to bake. Serve with honey butter, bacon grease (hubby's favorite) or plain butter.

I am single. However, years as an advocate, negotiator, decision-maker and policy-maker have made me very opinionated. I am also very independent. Doesn’t help that I am extremely involved in my life’s work.

I have found this to be a turn off to many men - lol.
This is why God created canines and grandchildren. They accept you as is.

Put some general information about yourself in your profile, keep an eye out on threads for posters whose posts indicate they are single and might be interesting, and talk to them. I met my husband TalonDJ on this site, we’ve been married over two years and expecting our first child this month. Having some personal information (just interests) on our profile pages let us know that we had similar interests and we hung out online for a good while before we met in person and then actually started a long distance relationship.

Uh hmm, I need to be taken off the list since my single days have long passed 20 some years ago. My typing fingers itched at the cornbread recipe and should have explained my status there. But hey, y’all have FUN!
