I met petronski on FR. Very hard to meet a conservative man in the area of Long Island I lived in. The dating scene in New York is cutthroat too for the ladies as we outnumber the menfolk. We became because we discovered we had a lot in common. We’ve been married for almost three years.

Best Cornbread recipe in the world is:

2 cups cornmeal
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
2 cups buttermilk
2 eggs slightly beaten

Mix all together, and pour into a 9” hot iron skillet that you have put a tablespoon or two of oil in.

Bake at 450 degrees for about 25 minutes.

JMO, but the problem with freep dating is that we are all so spread out. Posters I’ve been interested in are always too far away.

But it’s not impossible. Quite a few posters have met here and got married.

You’re married? I didn’t know that. Three years ago? How did I miss that?

Congratulations!

I briefly dated I gal I met on a thread here some years ago. But it was a long-distance thing and it just didn't work out.

Unfortunately, there aren't many conservative gals in San Diego in the appropriate age range who aren't already taken.

Dating websites are infested with liberals, but they're easy to screen out - I just mention I'm a firearms enthusiast and NRA-certified instructor and work in the defense industry!

I imagine many gals would like a smart man with a job and the ability to protect her.

I don't need a man to protect me, but I sure would love one that could stand by my side while we protected each other.

:-)

It could be that I'm just a cave troll and don't get out often enough. I loathe driving, especially at night. hehe

Thanks for the cornbread advice.

Unfortunately, I was raised eating the best cornbread on the planet, lovingly made by momma with meal my dad ground from his own secret strain of field corn.

Alas it is a lost pleasure. My sister comes close though.

Keep looking. :~) We're hanging out here on FR just as you are! Some of us conservative women just aren't as blatant in our come-ons/flirting as some I've seen here. I'd rather find a conservative guy who enjoys good conversation in general than high school or bar room type sexual innuendo repartee - which I've seen on here.

The Singles Thread died for lack of finding new people to create the thread on weekends to give the regulars a break. In my opinion, it was kinda boring anyway. I need more stimulating conversation than endless questions like "post the first sentence from the second chapter of the book you're currently reading" and the like.

That’s cake, not cornbread! ;~) Cornbread is supposed to suck 90% of the water out of your body, as Mark Lowry likes to say! lol

Find some unground corn run it through a food processor. That will come closer to your memories. Oh and use it IMMEDIATELY.

But only on the days there's a host around (in front of?) the sun.

It's been so long, I don't remember EXACTLY what it was.
