Levi Johnston: Palin is lying
Politico ^ | 04/09/09 | Andy Barr

Posted on 04/09/2009 9:36:02 AM PDT by Big_Monkey

The father of Sarah Palin’s grandchild accused the Alaska governor on Wednesday of lying about him and his family.

Levi Johnston said during an interview on CBS’s “Early Show” that he moved into the governor’s house a few weeks before Bristol Palin gave birth to their child.

Palin’s camp has denied the claim, but Johnston insisted the governor is not telling the truth. “They said I didn't live there,” he said. “I was like, 'OK, well, whatever you want to call it. I had my stuff there.'”

Asked if the Palin was lying about him, Johnston simply said: “Yes.”

Palin spokeswoman Meg Stapleton lashed out at the 18-year-old over the weekend, prior to his appearance Monday on the “Tyra Banks Show.”

“We’re disappointed that Levi and his family, in a quest for fame, attention and fortune, are engaging in flat-out lies, gross exaggeration and even distortion of their relationship,” Stapleton said. “It is unfortunate that Levi finds it more appealing to exploit his previous relationship with Bristol than to contribute to the well-being of the child.”

Johnston denied Wednesday that he is trying to “exploit” his relationship with the governor’s family.

“We're not cashing in on their name,” he said.“I'm just trying to get my side of the story out there and letting people know who I am.”

Looking back at his time in the spotlight, Johnston said the biggest misconception about him is “that my family’s white trash.”

This is why Palin never should have said anything beyond "No Comment" the first time this punk opened his mouth. Every time she responds, it gives the media another excuse to put this guy on TV.

Did he get his driver’s license reissued with the new address? Isn’t that what you need to prove residency these days?

This is ridiculous. Why did the media even ask him again. This won’t be resolved as it is a he said she said scenario. Plus where is his proof. Since he made the statements, I think he should provide proof of his statements.

Yeah, but “No Comment” is always a foolish response to make to any media enquiry. It is always interpreted to mean you have something to hide, and it makes them dig deeper and harder.

I’d prefer to say “This is a private family matter, and we are dealing with it as such. We’d be grateful if you would please afford us our privacy, which we believe is a reasonable request.”

That says the same thing as “No Comment” but makes it unreasonable to dig further.

That’s what I wonder. Why is the saga of Bristol Palin and her baby and her ex-boyfriend considered important national news? Why is the MSM covering this stuff?

Good question too, why is Governor Palin apparently responding to any of this? The MSM will simply twist whatever response she gets into their template of trying to discredit her, by any means necessary, over any subject in her life.

Some skunk who gets a stupid female knocked up and winds up a semi-celebrity with American-hating leftist media whores because of who the mother of his main squeeze was?

This guy is so vile he shouldn’t be given any attention whatsoever by Palin’s people anymore.

In a more genteel society, Mr. Johnson would be dangling from a tree somewhere or recovering from a good bullwhipping.

The Libs don't care. They like it as a wedge issue to divide "concerned conservatives" from the party. The same as when they outed 2 gay Republicans in 2006.

It is Stalinist.

Agree! This guy is given to much credit now by responding in the first place.

"This is a private family matter", would have been enough of a response to the media. To respond by saying he is putting his own interest above his child, only makes him respond in return with more details of a dysfunctional relationship from the start!

Did he change his address to the Palins? If not, then he legally did not live there.

I hate this victim crap. All nothing more than a liberal calling card. Why doesn't someone ask him WHY he lived with the Palins? If someone did, they'd find out his mom is a drug addicted dealer. The Palins were the center of stability and normalcy for a boy who had none.

I’m still trying to figure out what the “story” is here? He said she said over whether or not he had officially “moved into” the mansion? Who cares? What is the significance other than they seem to disagree over whether he was living there. Maybe she thought he was just going to hang around and support Bristol. What’s the issue other than a matter of perspective that’s being spun for partisan purpose. Am I missing something here?

Because they can spin it as “conservative Christian Republicans are hypocrites” and keep building on the previous garbage heap for when she runs on her own.

I wish someone would ask him why he's busy giving interviews in New York City for the last two weeks rather than working to PAY FOR THE CHILD HE FATHERED. What are his plans? How does he intend to make a living? Is he looking to further his education either through college or a trade school?

These are the only questions that the MSM should be asking this ultra-moron.

The whole "private family matter" argument kinda went out the window when Bristol Palin went on Fox News to be interviewed by Greta a few weeks ago.

If Governor Palin had more political savvy this is exactly what she should have said. Imagine if in a national presser President Obama , if questioned on this, would have had to support her.

I guess if the “family matter” argument won’t fly, she could have tried something like this:

“Bristol has already spoken at length on this painful subject, and we are now trying to heal our differences with Levi and his family. We would be grateful if you could please afford us our privacy, so as to not make matters worse. We believe this to be a reasonable request, and we hope you will respect it.”

Something like that...
