With the captain swimming away from the boat, why weren't the pirates blown away? The Navy is either not watching too closely or they are under orders not to use deadly force.

The President is probably very upset with this uppity Captain at the moment for doing something so terrible.

After all, he's supposed to be a good little Dhimmi and kneel down before his Muslim thug captors and ask their forgiveness for all the arrogance of the Great Satan.

Perhaps he was attempting to swim towards the US navy.

To me, the situation speaks loudly; he would much rather go it alone risking sharks and pirates than wait on Barry’s new Uncle Sam to intervene.

What a shame! The captain was probably sure that once he made his move we would make ours.

And we let him down.

He must feel so alone.

Other pirates are coming bringing hostages and stolen boats.

OH OBAMA, RAISE THY STAFF AND QUELL THESE HARSH HEARTS (snicker-snicker). BRING FORTH JUSTICE AND PEACE (snicker-snicker-snicker). HOLD HANDS AND SAY GUM-BY-YAH, REACH THE PIRATE’S SENSE OF JUSTICE, CHANGE THEIR HEARTS (chuckling).

LOL LOL LOL LOL

End results: (a) dead hostages or (b) paid ransom and (c) pirates smelling blood.

This ain’t Jack Sparrow...savvy?

Well, I would say it would be either dead hostage or paid ransom.... [of course the U.S. wouldn’t pay any ransom, as it would come from the shipping company... :-) ...]

Exurban League: Obama Reaches Out to 'Moderate' Pirate Community

"Since the pirates are still holding the captain, I have sent FBI negotiators to facilitate his safe and speedy release. I assure his friends and family that I will not stop until this man-made disaster is resolved in a peaceful, tolerant and ecologically-sound manner.... For too long, America has been too dismissive of the proud culture and invaluable contributions of the Pirate Community. Whether it is their pioneering work with prosthetics, husbandry of tropical birds or fanciful fashion sense, America owes a deep debt to Pirates." -- The full text of Obama statement can be found at that outpost of sanity deep in our southwestern wastes ..." The Navy also is reported to have supplied the pirates with food and batteries. Why didn’t they put some powerful sedatives in the food? Someone isn’t thinking or is awful dumb.

My guess is that the military is under orders not to use deadly force!!

We have a bunch of appeasers in the White House controlling this hostage crisis.

The Navy should’ve sent pork rinds and ham sandwiches.

Once there was daylight between the Captain and the bad guys it should have been over. The only explanation is the Navy has been ordered not to engage. This makes me ill.
