I was going to go out on a limb and take as guess that she was blond. So close, so very very close.

Poor thing, this may of been the only way she could find a “little action”.

A soft-spoken, former 29-year-old
Small world. I'm a "former 29-year-old" myself.

A 16 YO boy? Heck, there are more than a few 16 year old boys who, if Helen Thomas said, “Let’s go do it,” would say, “Yes, ma’am.”
It’s a low bar.

This probably isn't a good pic... more evidence would help. I agree. A little make up and she would likely be very presentable.
Of course we would need a full body shot before the jury could render a verdict.

I think she's a "dirty" blond.

“But the casual contact, coupled with love poems and the Valentine’s Day gift, crossed the line and made this a crime...”
What isn’t a crime nowadays?
Oooooo and she had a swiss army knife too.

Doing something with those tumbleweeds on either side of her head would help too.

From the article:
"She's never going to be a teacher's aide again. She's going to have to find another line of work." Ooooohhh, now that is a harsh punishment.

On one hand we have some legislator up in Vermont wanting to make sex texting between kids 13 and 18 OK because we don't want them to be labeled sex offenders for life and on the other hand you have laws against 16 year olds getting to do what sixteen year olds do to 16 year olds all the time only they can't do it with a 29 year old. How can you maintain civility on the part of the teachers in an environment where the kids are hooking up at will? To tell you the truth, there were a couple of teachers in my high school I'd have been happy spend a little after class time with and I doubt it would have scared me for life. Ever heard that Garth Brooks song “That Summer”?
I went to work for her that summer
A teenage kid so far from home
She was a lonely widow woman
Hell-bent to make it on her own
We were a thousand miles from nowhere
Wheat fields as far as I could see
Both needing something from each other
Not knowing yet what that might be
Yeah I know not professional, ethical behavior on her part but not the worst thing that could happen to a boy either. It would be a big problem if the woman got pregnant I guess, couldn't really blame the kid or get child support and he might feel pretty bad about having a kid somewhere but I guess that's old fashioned today too.
