Mel Gibson may soon be writing one of the biggest checks of his life to his wife.
With no indication that the estranged couple who married 28 years ago had a prenup, Robyn Gibson, 53, is legally entitled in their divorce to half of everything the actor-director-producer earned from their marriage in 1980 to the date of their legal separation: A fortune estimated at close to $1 billion.

mel, what happened to fidelity?
No. You can rent women like her for much less, and get a great variety of choices without being burdened with the overhead or baggage that comes with buying.
It's clear what he sees in her. But get a grip, Mel.
Who is that woman?
Mel’s woman on the side. A Russian pop singer.
I take she’s the potential next Mrs. Gibson.
Aftr so many years and children. I say good for her.
I usually do not but considering that she stood by him for so long and he is being a peen, good for her. She will still have the kids.
He may loose his half to the first gold digger he knocks up. Then his kids will have nothing.
Ya need to post a pic of Mel. He is looking more than just rough these days. The years are not being too kind. It seems like there is an awful lot of money for both Gibsons to share. You would think though that after 28 years the marriage would be pretty ‘solid.’ Pity.
Their finances are the in the stratosphere...so I don’t think, when mom and dad share 1Bil that anyone comes out living in the poor house.
They only have one minor child, a son; and the others are all grown (and no doubt working in dad’s production company or some such enterprise). I wouldn’t fret the finances of any of this bunch...
Something happened to him around the time he did Passion of The Christ and he has not been the same actor or person since..
Thanks, knarf...not only is Mel wearing his ‘crazy eyes’ he trying to rock that whole Satan look. Ewwwwww...but I gue$$ the Ru$$ian gal enjoy$ it!
I believe you are correct...midlife crisis, meets substance abuse meets the Passion. Not a good mix. Throw in some anti-semitism, a DUI, a wife whose not 20 anymore...recipe for...TABLOID FARE!!!
He’s looking more like Billy Bob Thorton than Sir William Wallace (Movie version) these days.
In the second photo, is Oksana dooling out his meds? What an odd, odd picture...
Got me. She kinda looks like Jessica Alba.
Perhaps it is some kind of drug/s or some kind of psychosis, but I am not surprised that his wife is divorcing him. He has changed and she would be the first to tell you.
Yep. She has been through infidelity with him before, this is something different and this is something she could not live with — and probably didn’t want their young son to live with, either. He has almost become psychotic, you can see it in his eyes when he’s interviewed, this is not “the” Mel Gibson of old... he was mischievous and happy go lucky, this man is demonized.
Mad Maxx had guts and courage to persevere, but it appears Mel is a marriage quitter.
She’s his “mid life crisis” incarnate.
I don’t know about his new girlfriend, but with 1/2 $B, his soon to be ex-wife is looking pretty good to me - and I haven’t even seen her!
Catholics aren’t allowed to have a pre-nup.
This is so sad, but it seems that once crazy, always crazy, and Mel Gibson has certainly been crazy all his life.
doesn’t mean that the marriage wasn’t solid...lots of solid guys go through mid life crises...
But he is an on and off alcoholic, and may have bipolar or other problems, so his wife deserves half of his money for putting up with his bad times...
and I say that even though I love Mel’s work and pray for him.
Is that $1 Billion in Australian Dollars?
I believe it is US.
“I dont know about his new girlfriend, but with 1/2 $B, his soon to be ex-wife is looking pretty good to me - and I havent even seen her!”
You’re first, after me!
He wasn’t rich when he married but I can’t believe guys lie Spieldeberg didn’t get a prenup.
