smallest tea party in America today
none; self | April 15, 2009 | franksolich

Okay, I'm not sure what to do, or how to do; if this is in the wrong forum, administrators, please correct, and thank you!

The tea party in Stanton, Nebraska, today brought about 200, and this with no advertising.

A table, a sign, and two thermos containers of iced tea were set up in front of the local post office.

Stanton is a small town (population circa 1500), and it was all word-of-mouth.

The event had been planned from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., but because of the interest the tea party generated, the event was kept open another hour, until 4 p.m.

A count was kept--obviously there weren't 400 people all there at the same time; 200 people over seven hours, a count that does NOT include people just going to the post office to get their mail, and nothing else.

I wish I could write more, and better, but I just got home and am all dragged out. It was great. It was awesome.

I’m sorry; I used “400” one time and “200” two times.

The “400” refers to customers of the post office; those interested in the tea party was “200”.

One kind of “typos” when one’s tired and excited.

Thanks franksolich!

Thats a great turnout for such a tiny town!

And no advertising; all word-of-mouth.

You know, sir, I TRIED to get this registered with any one of the various web-sites giving locations and schedules, but no go.

To get an event listed on those sites required, quite reasonably so, authenticity be proven by a telephone number.

Ooops. Can't do that; deaf, don't have or use a telephone.

And so this one never got listed anywhere.

It was great.

The turnout was more that 1/8 of your entire population.

I doubt that anyone else is going to come close.

Congratulations to you and your neighbors!

Just remember, it all starts with one person. That one person can create a spark that will fuel a forest fire that can burn thousands of acres!

Good job!

I used to buy meat from the locker in Stanton. It’s little more than a two-pump gas station. If you got 200 people there, it’s a tribute to their spirit!
