Actually, it can get way, way worse. As it turns out, there's nothing in nature more creative than a parasite. And we don't mean that in a good way. For instance...

It would appear that the author stuck to non-human parasites, as opposed to inhuman ones.

I am astonished and disheartened that the legendary researchers at Cracked didn't include the Candiru

(Warning:  If you thought that the Cracked parasites were yucky and made your skin crawl, think twice before clicking this link or watching the videos.  Not suitable for work or family environments and truly the stuff of nightmares...because of the specific way that it interacts with humans.  You've been warned)

Candiru - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

YouTube - Horror story Candiru the Toothpick Fish - Weird Nature - BBC animals

IMO, compared to some of the nightmares in the article, bot fly larvae are warm and cuddly.

Too bad he he screwed himself over in real life.

I agree that it is indeed icky...I suppose I tend to be affected more by the incidence of pain and trauma that affect humans rather than insects and animals....granted the visuals are shocking but they're insects after all.  Great video that you posted BTW....loved the way that the healthy ants knew what to do in order to protect the colony.  I wish that Socialists were that smart:

London suffering from shocking rise in rare 'Victorian' diseases

Socialists aren't even smart enough to keep immigration at a sane level, and so the entire 'colony' suffers and is placed at extreme risk.  But then again we aren't so very different with the various immigration threats that we face here in the USA.

It was, IMO, a real possibility - some people like to use these critters as the centerpiece of a “How could a benevolent G-d do X?” argument. Glad it didn’t happen, though.

Interesting ideas there, which take a longer answer than I can give from a cell phone. Short answer is that it’s the idea of Cordyceps that I find horrifying, even though it can’t affect higher species.

I’m less worried about the court battle than the political backlash. Coleman’s right, but that won’t stop the MSM from making him out as a “Sore Loserman.” The late-night comics will eat out on this for months. H*ll, Coleman might drop out to avoid destroying his career like Algore did.

Still, I hope he stays in. In a lose-lose battle, I prefer the option that gets us a Senate seat.
