This video is so perfect! In short, go away, Mr. Hilton, you’re even making TMZ look good in comparison.

Yes that’s very funny. It struck me see photos of Perez Hilton, that the only one who might find him attractive would be Rosie O’Donnell.

Thanks for the great pics; first one of Miss California that I had seen.

A gay friend said that an evening with Perez Hilton could make any gay man want to “go straight”.

OMG..that was brilliant..and so spot on. Perez Hilton is symbolic of everything that’s wrong with our celebrity culture. To think that this man is given legitimacy by Trump and others is an outrage. He is a vicious little twerp and I wish Billy Ray Cyrus would punch him in the face. No jury in the world would convict him.

No. In order to eat, I must not only “want” (desire) to, but be “willing” (choose) to. Desire AND choice are both involved.

Perez by any stretch of the imagination is a nasty bully and the best thing we can do to stop this bully is to let his web page sponsors and VH1 know that if they are employing him, you are not going to patronize them for years in reply.
That’s what I’m going to do.
We all should for the next three years or so.

And from what I hear she is a sweetheart and very intelligent.

I don’t see how her being beautiful and being in a contest is unChristian.

Also, her answer, while not fully eloquent spoke truth to God’s Laws regarding homosexuality.

She was courageous to speak so non-PC in a culture which abhors God and Christianity. jmo

Why there are some religious groups that believe in covering the body, e. g. the Amish, Ultra-Orthodox Jews, and Wahabbi Muslims, among others, not all religious people do so.

So, we live in the Garden of Eden before the fall?

Take a look at Miss CA...she is putting a LOT of time into her looks. The Bible would tell her to emphasize inner beauty.

The point is that there is nothing inherently wrong with no or little clothes (in and of itself; I'm not trying to pretend there are not dangers associated with excitement to lust), not that we should all walk around pretending to be in Garden of Eden.

Another biblical perspective: When Christ entered Jerusalem, the crowd cast off their garments for Him to sit and ride on (Mark 11:7-8). Church Fathers interpreted this as the start of a return to Eden.

As to your point about inner beauty, there is nothing wrong with inner or outer beauty. See the entire book of the Song of Solomon. A denial of the body is a denial of the Incarnation - the Word became flesh and dwelt among us - and is a step in the direction of Gnosticism.

It is a matter of priorities. I’m not advocating that no one comb their hair. However, from the photos of Miss CA, she spends a LOT of time on her looks. Frankly, you can’t compete at that level in beauty pageants if you don’t.

When you devote that much time to the body, you are missing the point. It is like the difference between lifting weights and bodybuilding. One is exercise, the other is obsession.

I can see your point. On her level, she is, however, a professional beauty, like a fashion model, and therefore must spend a lot of time and attention on her looks. And if her gifts are used properly, as she seems to be trying to do, I don't see the harm.

I have been blessed with a quick, analytic mind and the ability to express myself well (OK, maybe I am not blessed with humility). I make a good living from these gifts.

Miss CA has been blessed with beauty. She is not a prostitute, and as long as she does not use her talent for evil, I can find no fault with her investing in what she has been granted.

And I sincerely wish that God will bless you as well.

OK, you try

  1. getting up on a stage in front of thousands of people,
  2. your first time on national TV,
  3. where you get asked a question where you have to instantly choose between being true to your beliefs (and lose on a goal you've been working hard towards for a long time) versus winning your goal by being politically correct
and see how cool and collected you stay.

Perez Hilton tossed a grenade as Miss California, and she instantly made her choice to save her principles by diving on it and letting it blow her up.

I don’t want to sit in judgement here. My daughter is beautiful. In her teen years had the opportunity to speak about purity and abstinence issues. She went on Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher, sat next to Adam Carolla who called her gay for waiting until marriage. So many criticized my daughter for not thinking of the “right” thing to say. It is extremely difficult to think on your feet, on LIVE television under those conditions- you are being attacked! I was so proud of my daughter. The criticism was ridiculous, the critics weren’t even there! The pageant, I’m on the fence- about body image and those things, but Miss California will be maturing in her faith, as all of us do.

You are right about the difficulties of thinking on your feet on TV or during an interview. The media has an agenda. It is not just liberal bias, but the interviewer/host/reporter has a slant they want to give the story.

I always prepared by watching/listening to a couple of episodes of the show if at all possible. But, they're comfortable and in their element. It is their job after all.

One effective tactic that many seasoned interviewers take is ignoring leading/hostile questions. You need to know why you are there. You don't care about the guy at home screaming, “Why don't you just answer the question” at his TV. You give the answer to the questions you want to answer.

It works and it generally befuddled most interviewers in my experience. It threw their timing and changed the dynamics of the interview.

As to a devout Christian pursuing a beauty contest it does seem like the wrong venue - Babylon/Egypt are places to escape from, not enjoin.

There is a poll on Yahoo at this time on this subject.

Our side is pounding the gay butt boys like Hilton.

http://js.polls.yahoo.com/quiz/quiziframe.php?poll_id=44881

Go to the site and vote to pound more shame on the truly ugly/two ton gay butt boy, Hilton.

Q. Carrie Prejean caused a stir on the Miss USA stage when she said marriage should only be between a man and a woman. Judge Perez Hilton and others in the pageant slammed the response, which may have cost her the crown. On the talk-show circuit Prejan has stood by her response and garnered praise from opponents of same-sex marriage.

What do you think? Does Prejean deserve criticism or praise for her response?

She should be criticized. That sort of prejudice should never be tolerated. 11%
She should be praised for expressing her opinion. 87%
Not sure/No opinion. 1%
