OK I'll (vanity) it: The Mexican flu is total Bull. Must be a distraction.

Posted on 04/25/2009 5:37:59 PM PDT by Cringing Negativism Network

Haven't seen so much media-generated hysteria since forever.

But it's all bull. Smoke. All of it.

Every. Single. Year. 30,000 Americans are killed by this exact same Flu. Type A.

How many Americans have succumbed to this one?

(that's a rhetorical question)

I suspect, this is all an elaborate ruse. To cover up our "dear leader's" plummeting approval numbers.

Someone, has been doing some polling. That's what I think.

Damn I wish I could believe they wanted to close the border.

Perhaps they mean their Southern border... or the Northern border for people heading South.

Since Obama doesn't want to close the borders, I don't see this as some king of scheme. This is the kind of thing that will get folks agitated to close the borders. Why would the current administration want to alarm folks? Doesn't make sense to me.

The media just likes to hype up these cases.

They want to impose travel restrictions. The populace are restless and fighting mad over bailouts and such and are just about ready to march on Washington.

Sorry. Don’t mean to single you out. Thanks for your response.

But M. Savage is sort of the Debka of talk radio.

I’m not saying the H1N1 type-A Mexican Flu of 2009 is imaginary.

But it sure seems hyped. And our media is without any question, now entirely a state-run propaganda clique.

My suspicion is. If the media is clamoring about something.

Then. It must be bull!

Seriesly. I’ve taken to presuming our once-free press, has become a partisan, contrary indicator - to truth.

Since they’re in full-blown crisis mode.

I’m figuring, they’re all full of it.

Maybe I’m wrong. Lord knows I often am. But for some reason, I completely, totally suspect some sort of ulterior motives here.

Must be, everything else I’ve seen from the media since my formative years.

For lack of a kinder adjective. They’re liars.

Obama will use this Wednesday night on TV to tell us we need to pass National Health Care.

This is not the exact same flu. This is a strain of it. I won’t say head for the hills but there is a reason why the CDC and virologists are watching it very closely, when a virus mutates a lot of bad things can happen. ..... aft_lizard

Do 30,000 Americans die of the flu every year.

Yep.

Who are they?

Mostly the old and the immune-compromised.

What's so different about this strain?

On another thread, a Mexican doctor told BBC that two of his intern colleagues in the hospital where he works have died. ...... 43 posted on Saturday, April 25, 2009 3:24:11 PM by Cicero (Marcus Tullius)

When 86 year old Mrs. Bernstein dies of a particular flu strain, that's just The Natural Order of Things.

When two healthy 27 year old medical interns die in the same hospital of a particular flu strain, you have a very nasty, newly-mutated bug.

Regardless of Obama's opinion of himself, not everything is about him.

This is a big story in South America where Mexican passengers are being denied entry into the country if they arrive with a fever.

Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar and sometimes a new and nasty strain of killer flu is a new and nasty strain of killer flu.

“Tammy Bruce, who is on right now, says it’s an attempt by the Mexican Govt to give itself the right to close the border and suppress civil liberties.”

Isn’t it easier just to send your criminals over here and be done with them?

You forgot west nile virus.

Hey, I'm acquainted with a few people who still have problems because of getting infected from a mosquito bite. I don't think I'd characterize West Nile as purely hysteria.

“when a virus mutates a lot of bad things can happen.”

Something bad CAN happen, or nothing can happen. Let’s all panic just to be safe.

It doesn’t have to be a fake pandemic, for those with ulterior motives to take advantage. Times like this are great for playing hide the sausage with the general public.

Every year in the United States, on average:

5% to 20% of the population gets the flu;
more than 200,000 people are hospitalized from flu-related complications; and
about 36,000 people die from flu-related causes.

Yes, enough already with the several dozen threads
on the flu hysteria.

I say this living in San Diego where there are 4 cases of this flu and Mexico at the southern border of SD.

The flu has been great for Obama.

The attention away from his distruction of America.

Focus on what Obama and the Democrats are doing and
what we are facing or maybe it is easier to yap on about the flu.

It sounded really weird, how it was described to me. Temporary memory loss, temporary paralysis, joint and bone pain. Lasting effects include feeling like you’re in a fog, mentally; vague aches and pains; and peripheral neuropathy. There were several people who died from what appeared to be a form of encephalitis. Killed a few horses and dogs around here too, in addition to jays and crows.
