Supermodel Kathy Ireland Lashes Out Against Pro Choice

Posted on 04/27/2009 7:36:29 AM PDT by Mind Freed

It’s no secret that the majority of Hollywood stars are strong advocates for a woman’s right to choose whether or not she wants to terminate a pregnancy, however former "Sports Illustrated" supermodel-turned-entrepreneur-turned-author Kathy Ireland has gone against the grain of the glitterati and spoken out against abortion.

"My entire life I was pro-choice — who was I to tell another woman what she could or couldn’t do with her body? But when I was 18, I became a Christian and I dove into the medical books, I dove into science," Ireland told Tarts while promoting her insightful new book "Real Solutions for Busy Mom: Your Guide to Success and Sanity."

My entire life I was pro-choice — who was I to tell another woman what she could or couldn’t do with her body?

I have never figured out the cognitive dissonance of the liberals on their abortion and government health care stands. They will in one breath say that no one should tell a woman what she can do with her body and in the next breath say that government should control what medical treatments can and can't be done. I guess not "controlling what a woman does with her body" only applies to a few cubic inches between puberty and menopause in women - in every other situation treatment should be controlled and limited.

"My entire life I was pro-choice — who was I to tell another woman what she could or couldn’t do with her body? But when I was 18 , I became a Christian and I dove into the medical books . . . "

How old is she now? In her 30s? It seems odd to refer to being pro-choice her entire life until she became a Christian at 18. No one is pro choice or pro life for about the first 12 years of their life because they are not mature enough to understand what it means. Is someone really pro choice or life until they can vote? I know the foundation is often set by your upbringing long before then, and lots of girls younger than 18 get abortions, but I often think they haven't a clue what they are doing.

She TOTALLY points out that a Baby is NOT part of a woman's body.....do women have PENISES since 50% are male babies???

If a woman cut off her arm on purpose, what would happen? She would be taken for MENTAL EVALUATION....why, it's HER BODY, right??? Well THAT would be her body, but the baby is not...she is CARRYING the baby....C A R R Y I N G.......geesh.

The question she was asked was not an unfair question, but it was asked by a biased Judge and the answer went to Judges who were also biased, although why they would pick homosexually biased people to judge the beauty of straight women I cannot fathom.

Kathy, that was your first mistake. Getting educated AND having ethics and values pretty much ruins you insofar as the Hollyweird Glitteri are concerned.

A woman's body ends at the umbilical cord. That is one or more individuals at the other end.

If it's really a “woman's body with her right to do as she wishes” then she could smoke and drink with clear conscience during pregnancy.

When a woman gets pregnant, the father is obligated to that child for 18 years. Why does the mother get to shirk her responsibility to that child?

We talk about deadbeat dads. 50 million babies are dead because of abuse from their mothers.

"I’ve also asked leading scientists across our country to please show me some shred of evidence that the unborn is not a human being. I didn’t want to be pro-life, but this is not a woman’s rights issue but a human rights issue."

When your eyes open up to this fact, the reality of 50 million dead babies is staggering. How does such madness occur in our nation under law? What's happened to our moral compass in the last 40 years?

But on the opposite end of the spectrum, "Judging Amy" star Amy Brenneman has been busy voicing her views as a strong advocate of pro-choice over recent years. "(My involvement) is really through this feminist majority that I work with and it is a very important issue that’s close to my heart," Brenneman told Tarts at last week’s Autism Speaks event in Hollywood. "Unless a woman really has sovereignty over her own body we really haven’t come that far."

Buy the lie.

If Planned Parenthood really was pro-woman and not pro-rape, they would not cover up child molestation when minors come to them with consensual pregnancies.

Also, why would a pro-abort be invited to speak at a conference on autism?

Was she there to make the case that “with early testing, such birth defects can be erradicated”?

Sorry Vike. For what it’s worth, I believe that a guy comfortable in his relationships can look at every single picture of the lovely Kathy on this thread and appreciate her beauty without devolving into lust. Admittedly, a couple of the photos are a bit borderline racy, but none of them are even remotely prurient or pornographic IMHO. Appreciate the beauty of the creation, glorify and thank the creator.
