POCONO LAKE, Pa. - In a bear-versus-beagle spat, a Pocono Mountain pet was a lucky dog.
Susan Chappell says she let 6-year-old Heather out the door in Pocono Lake about 6 a.m. Wednesday, and heard a sudden commotion. Heather was barking at two bear cubs that had climbed up trees when a mother bear came out from under the porch and attacked.
