Could the Mystery of the Milky Way hold the Key to Future Life on Planet Earth?

The Milky Way, sometimes called simply the Galaxy, is the galaxy in which our Solar System is located. It is a barred spiral galaxy that is part of the Local Group of galaxies. It is one of billions of galaxies in the observable universe. Its name is a translation of the Latin Via Lactea, which derives from the Greek Γαλαξίας (Galaxias or Galaxiases), both of which refer to the pale band of light formed by the galactic plane as seen from Earth (see etymology of galaxy). Some sources hold that, strictly speaking, the term Milky Way should refer exclusively to the band of light that the galaxy forms in the night sky, while the galaxy as an astrophysical whole should receive the full name Milky Way Galaxy, or alternatively the Galaxy.[4][5][6] However, it is unclear how widespread this convention is, and the term Milky Way is routinely used in either context. Never noticed it until I slept in a sleeping bag outdoors in the mountains looking up at the stars. My snoring kept the bears away.

What a joke. This reads like a fifth grade essay, which I suspect it is.

I agree. Looks like a cut and paste job. The repeated facts imply a lack of comprehension of some of the facts.

The facts in the article show a difference of four thousand light years between the sun and the earth from the center of our galaxy. Four thousand light years is enormous.

Light from the sun hits earth in about 8 minutes give or take.

Also, the article references the density being so huge. Density is a measure of “how much per volume” and in a homgenous material would be consistent no matter the size of the object (galaxy).

When one is submitting articles for review, it is my opinion that the author should strive to keep the science straight. There are serious (series? jk) ramifications when improper use of scope, terms, scale and concepts are allowed to pass in our public dialogue and media.

I applaud the quest of knowledge but a part of all of our jouneys is truth, the ablility to discern and properly communicate the discovery based on the facts.

Otherwise, snake oil merchants and demagogues rule.

Good luck to you!

What’s nuts - the article itself, the content, the style, the subject matter? Please be specific as I am looking for feedback. In the meantime, thanks for the comment.

Whoa! Ease up. It’s a pun—play on words.

He said he prefered a Milky Way bar, you said a Snickers, and I said that’s just nuts... Snickers—nuts.

It’s a joke!

A Milky Way doesn’t have nuts; a Snickers does.

Context, man!!!!

...data also suggests that two of earth mass extensions -- the Permian (250 million years BCE) and the Ordovician (450 million years BCE) corresponds with this cycle. Evolutionists have made multiple attempts to explain these events without success.
IOW, they're unreconstructed gradualist losers.

earth mass extensions

Perhaps that would be 'earth mass extinctions'.
