LAUDERHILL - Five more cats were found dead and mutilated Saturday, bringing the total number of felines that have met a similar fate here in recent days to seven. Police also found a dead kitten in the same neighborhood, but do not yet know whether it's linked to the other cases. Police officials said Saturday night that they suspect a pack of dogs was responsible for most, if not all, of the cat deaths in and around the 5000 block of Northwest 16th Street. "It's appears an animal is doing this," said Capt. Rick Rocco, Lauderhill police spokesman, who added that Broward County Animal Countrol had been trying to track a pack of dogs seen wandering the area. Rocco said he believes he saw the dogs in the neighborhood Friday while at the site where another dead cat was found.

Not everyone, though, is convinced the cats were killed by animals.
Intensifying that suspicion is the fact that in South Miami-Dade County dozens of dead cats - their carcasses also mutilated - have turned up in recent weeks, and investigators there suspect the cases are the work of a person or persons.
Parents had better keep their kids close to home until this freak is caught. He wont be satisfied killing cats for long.
Dogs chaseing and killing cats has been going on as long as there as been dogs and cats.
That’s really close to the turnpike, roads like that are easy routes for animal predators.

Killing and mutilating domesticated animals.
If you want to find a pack of stray dogs I suggest you get out of your police cruiser and listen for five minutes, the other dogs will tell you where the strange dogs are.
Cats may be occasionally killed by dogs but I would imagine it would be very unusual for there to be any spike in that type of incident. Especially since the dead cats were all found within a one block area.
Chupacabra. They’re out there lurking in the night doing the jobs American predators won’t do.
Meanwhile, officials at both police departments report receiving an outpouring of tips from the community, though they want to point out that they do not list among their chief suspects the Chupacabra or aliens.
It wouldn't surprise me if they got over 100 calls blaming it on El Chupacabre.
I’d be very surprised if a pack of feral dogs used that part of the rurnpike to move to new territory. It has very little cover.
better title...”Stray cats are no longer a problem”
Lot’s of stuff moves along the interstates at night, most people just don’t see it.

Mine prefers newly washed clothes. Usually as a reminder to tell me his litter needs cleaning or changing. If he wasn’t so darn pretty (nearly perfect Tuxedo with a Johnny Depp chin-beard), I’d throw him outside to contend with the highway in front of my house.
I had a male cat once who thought the nice cleanly folded laundry was the ideal place, too. That wasn't his demise though. He came and went as he pleased so never did understand that. This one is a female and is totally indoor. Her box is clean and has two boxes just in case, but noooo! She sleeps with me and does fine, but during the day the bed is for peeing and the floor is for pooping. I can take the poo but not the peeing in the bed. Time to fire up the bbq!
LOL! Where’d you get a picture of my dog?
