The man charged with murdering a high-profile abortion doctor claimed from his jail cell Sunday that similar violence was planned around the nation for as long as the procedure remained legal, a threat that comes days after a federal investigation launched into his possible accomplices. A Justice Department spokesman said the threat was being taken seriously and additional protection had been ordered for abortion clinics last week. But a leader of the anti-abortion movement derided the accused shooter as "a fruit and a lunatic." Scott Roeder called The Associated Press from the Sedgwick County jail, where he's being held on charges of first-degree murder and aggravated assault in the shooting of Dr. George Tiller one week ago. "I know there are many other similar events planned around the country as long as abortion remains legal," Roeder said. When asked by the AP what he meant and if he was referring to another shooting, he refused to elaborate further.

Our tax dollars at work...Protecting murderers.
Be interesting how much MSM coverage and at what alert level of top priority reporting it will get.
The evil bastards will probely put in a drive through.
A press interview. personally I would have been more creative. From the book “A time to kill” paraphrased...Yes I’m glad he’s dead, and I hope he burns in Hell.
Good grief. I'm not mourning Tiller, frankly, but Roeder is a nut and is practically made-to-order for the government, which can now use every statement he makes to justify more attacks on the pro-life movement and any person or institution that supports it. Maybe he's a one-man Reichstag fire after all.
Oh great, just what the Pro-Life movement needed, a lunatic as it’s spokesperson.
...and that is why the MSM reports this as "news".
“Fruit and Lunatic”
Or a guy who backs up his words with action. Rare indeed.
The man is a destitute diagnosed schizophrenic.
Justice Department spokesman Matthew Miller said in a written statement Sunday that "we take this matter seriously, which is why the Attorney General ordered increased protection of appropriate people and facilities last week."
(snip)
Nancy Keenan president of NARAL-Pro-Choice America, said Roeder's comments "continue to escalate that kind of activity, that kind of violence. Quite honestly, I think it's imperative for anti-choice groups to tone down that rhetoric and keep the more extreme elements in their movement form copying Scott Roeder."
That's what they want: they want pro-lifers to back down.
Now is the time to get more adamant. In a pro-life fashion, though (i.e., to respect the dignity of every human life from conception to natural death: even scumbag mass-murdering abortionists; i.e., not being an advocate of violence in any sort, rather adamant prayer, loud indignation, and political action)
They should back down. Run those abortion mills without 24/7 police protection. Totally privatize their whole business first and then we'll talk.
And while they're at it they should STAY OUT OF CHURCHES. I do believe that was a serious contributory factor. After all, for all his security Tiller was, so to speak "disarmed" when he stepped inside a Lutheran church.
I don't know Kansas law, but if it's consistent with that in other states, concealed or open carry gun laws generally RESTRICT the presence of firearms in churches.
We've seen the same thing with schools. The crazoids pick GUN FREE SCHOOL ZONES for their massacres.
Why would our AG send additional security to abortuaries when it's pretty obviously the churches that need the beef!
The MSM are even calling him a terrorist. He can’t be a terrorist, he’s an American. He’s just a confused man who did a very bad thing.
