President George H.W. Bush is set to soar through the heavens yet again.
The octogenarian former Commander-in-Chief and 41st U.S. president will strap on a parachute for a tandem skydive June 12 to celebrate his 85th birthday.
Bush will leap out of an aircraft with the U.S. Armys Golden Knights parachute team in the skies above Kennebunkport, Maine, joined by Robin Meade, a news anchor with HLN, the cable news channel affiliated with CNN formerly known as Headline News.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MR. PRESIDENT! You got to love this. My bet is, Obama would never have the guts to jump!
"The first time I parachuted out of an airplane was because I had to."
Woo Hoo! Happy Birthday President GHW Bush. I have always loved him.
Former President George H.W. Bush made a tandem jump Friday with a member of the Army's Golden Knights parachute team onto a landing zone near a church in Kennebunkport, where Bush has a summer home.
Bush's most recent jump was in November 2007 at the reopening of his library at Texas A&M University.
Or even go up in an airplane smaller than a 737.
I take that back, he does manage to go up in Marine One, and that bird is so old ... well it's old, the first flight was March 1959; Operational, June 1961. (Although that is for the base model, VH-3's are a bit newer, the lastest version, the VH-3D first flying 1978,.)
Besides it's crewed by Jarheads. :)
Awesome. Glad he’s OK. I am sure Bar was having kittens.
