Great idea... ‘til one Grandma decides that someone else’s recipe is ruining the dish, and they get into a cat fight (with spatulas!).

Will make it a point to check it out next time I’m in the area. Hopefully that will be before one of the grandsons takes a few business courses and decides that they can make more money with cheaper ingredients, quicker cooking times, and cheaper labor.

Preparing sauce or gravy? (this is a long standing NY/NJ point of contention depending on from what neighborhood you come)

an Enoteca is a wine tasting place, not really a restaurant.

My great uncle came back from WWII with an Italian war bride. WOW, could she cook! Pretty exotic stuff for our very WASP family. LOL She joined the Episcopal church that the family atteneded, but other than that she remained a true Italian.
Lots of garlic, pasta and spice. I miss her.

My mother was an Italian war bride. Couldn’t cook. BAAAAAAAAAAAD food.

My brother however, became a Tuscan chef of some renown.

LOL My auntie was one excellent cook! My uncle did good. They had 2 daughters who looked just like their mother. Boy did they stand out in the family reunion pictures, lovely girls, black hair, dark eyes and olive skin. They didn’t look like the rest of us. lol I loved to go to their house after church on Sunday to eat. We had stuff we never got at home, lol. Spaghetti and meatballs, lasagna, sausages over polenta. She served all of that with tons of other stuff one Sunday a month when she hostessed the Sunday meal after church. Other Sundays we might go to Grandmother’s where it was roast beef with yorkshire pudding or to the Club or for a drive out to some little place in the country where my father liked to eat.
Sundays were special back then, what happened?
