Was anyone else bored to tears watching the repetitive and monotonous statements about their divorce made by Jon and Kate Gosselin on last night's show?
Kate tried to come off as being sad, vulnerable, suffering, but still strong, and Jon pretended that he was finally doing the manly thing by standing up to his harpy wife.
Both of them kept repeating how much they were thinking about their kids, even divorcing for their kids.
Really?
Because if they had been thinking about their kids' well-being, couldn't they have been in couples therapy for the last year, working out these relationship issues so it didn't have to come to this?
Those poor little kids.

It's bad enough these brat kids will be complaining to their $120 therapist in 5 years but that everybody else is crying about is ridiculous.
These kids don't have to fight WWII, or the Civil Rights movements-- who cares.
TLC gets stuck with the dirty diapers in the end .. and the re-runs.

As for him - he needs to get out the "booze earring motorcycle girlfriend" phase and act like a father to his kids even if his wife is a harpy from hell.

If they'd been thinking of their kids, neither one would have been so selfish and narcissistic to *step out* on the other. Frankly, if they'd EVER thought of their kids, they never would have done this stupid TV show in the first place!

He actually said he was “excited” about “this new chapter in my life.” Excited??? His family is falling apart around him; if he took his job as “father” seriously, he would not be excited about the future.
I can barely imagine the stress of 8x little kids would have on a marriage, then ontop of it your every move watched by the camera and air before the public. Wouldn’t be easy.
Having said that, it was their coice to take the money and live in the public eye. You can’t play the blame game and then keep taking the money.

My wife watches the show and occasionally I catch it.
My impression:
Kate’s a ball-breaking harpy, for whom there isn’t such a thing as stooping too low. 90% of the stuff in the show is her giving him a hard time about stupid stuff.
Jon’s a narcissistic wuss. He needs to Man-up, become a Father and more importantly, assert himself. Going out, getting an earring, a motorcycle and a girlfriend isn’t exactly what he needed to do.
The kids are a bunch of spoiled little brats. Sorry, but 5-year olds do NOT wear bibs for meals.

I saw parts of that. I saw that man-hater/ball-buster talking like::

Well, he didn’t say exactly that, but in so many words. Nevertheless... I stood up in applause when he said it.
Ha! If anything, he should get huge manimony. She is the income stream for the family. No one cares about Jon. He doesn't attract thousands at apperances, or command huge fees for appearing. She does.
Thats what I say at those INTERVENTION shows.

I was not bored by it at all. When that show's title shows across the bottom of my screen I press the button again. I have my own family. I have no interest in the story of two parents who have sold theirs.
I don’t know for the life of me why anybody watches this crap.
That being said, very uncool for him to move several states away from his kids. A few towns, sure. But Trump Towers in NYC? Very uncool.

One of the finest men I ever knew, he’s gone now, was named Jon. A decorated Marine, purple hearts courtesy of Korea, and a patriot. A real man.

I did watch last night’s show and have - until a couple of months ago - watched this show for the past 3 years. I watched because the CHILDREN were adorable.
I had stopped watching because Kate was, and still is, a b1tch all the time. Didn’t she watch the show and see herself? Last night, Jon was cooking out on the grill - it was full of hotdogs etc. Kate came out with a tray full of stuff and the first thing she said was: haven’t you started the X or finished the X? Even after all that’s gone on - her first reaction is to complain about whatever Jon is doing/did . She also got in several digs about how long it took the Crooked House people to finish the four houses for the kids. (although before the end of the show she did manage to give her obviously rehearsed mini-mercial about the company).
Yes, Jon needed to grow a pair, but I assumed he thought the best way to handle the situation was to not air their battles for the camera.
The part I disliked the most about the show was the “parental interviews” - boring and negative. If TLC is smart they will focus on the kids and end that painful, awkward ‘bridge’ between the kid segments that was used by the 2 ‘adults’ to tell their respective sides of the complaint du jour.
What a future show would have going for it is the precious children and how much they love each other and thank god they have each other, because ‘mommy and daddy are going to be busy finding themselves’ indefinitely.
I disagree to an extent ,, I ended up watching as my wife just “had to” watch ... I don’t see Kate as ever changing ,, Jon has flaws but he’s been beaten down publicly for years and can never be a real father if he can’t be a man first ... buying and riding a motorcycle is GREAT therapy... should help more than any amount of time with a counselor...

I’m with you. Even those dang commercials annoy me. The wife’s hair-do looks like she was electrocuted.
Poor kids is right. These people pimped out their family for money and fame, and now the kids are going to suffer from a broken home too. Jon and Kate are typical Americans these days. Displaying pure selfishness and cowardess.
Dude, those kids do not look anything like her, they look exactly like him. You would think he would be more interested in keeping the family together.
You hit both nails on the head. Exactly. She was so awfully disrespectful to him. And he needs to be a man. She needs to respect him and he needs to love (really) her.
There is no use for cheating, period. He should have manned-up and left before he thought cheating on his wife was part of the marriage vows.
They chose to film a show, they knew that it would stir up interest in them, and they knew full well what happened next.

In my opinion, from what I have seen, I do think that Kate is the culprit. She comes off as a complete ass-hat.
Why you would issue a statement saying that she had to file divorce papers to protect her kids and herself is beyond me. I guess she is referring to one of the kids getting hurt on Jon's watch(this Saturday). It happens lady.
Father's tend to let their kids go a little more. They aren't as protective. They aren't like that because they don't care, it's just their nature.
She won't disclose what she meant by that statement of course. She would rather throw rocks at him and leave.
She is a real piece of work!
