Elites often propose health care solutions that limit options for the general public, secure in the knowledge that if they or their loves ones get sick, they will be able to afford the best care available, even if it's not provided by insurance.
Devinsky asked the president pointedly if he would be willing to promise that he wouldn't seek such extraordinary help for his wife or daughters if they became sick and the public plan he's proposing limited the tests or treatment they can get.
The president refused to make such a pledge, though he allowed that if "it's my family member, if it's my wife, if it's my children, if it's my grandmother, I always want them to get the very best care.

Governmet crap -- Good enough for you and yours, not for me and mine.
Don’t count on any charges of “hypocrisy” swaying any leftists away from full support of 0bama.
Leftists don’t even believe in the concept when it comes to their “elite” (of which they all consider themselves part of).
If you want to understand the mindset, think FEUDALISM. They are the nobility, the masses are the peasants. Different rules and laws for both groups.
In their viewpoint:
It is entirely DESIRABLE for them to have different rules.
And, it is entirely NECESSARY for them not to be constrained by the rules place on us. Constraining them would hinder their implementation (imposition) of their “superior vision” on the rest of us.
Its good to be King
“Its good to be King”
It sure is. Let them eat cake.
An excellent question to ask every congress critter.
Publicly.
Multiple times a day.
By scores of reporterettes and constituents.
If the Republicans don’t run with this they are lamer than I thought.
No offense but I had to click on the article to go read it to believe this audacity.
Public school for thee- private school for my kids
WHO IN THE HECK wants obama and his legion of bureaucrats making health care decisions for them?????
Our slogan should be....If it ain’t good enough for the President and the Congress, it ain’t good enough for us.
Now just exactly what would this thug’s “pledge” mean anyway?
The GOP is pretty lame. Too many of them believe that if one foot is cut off, they should cut off the other one to be more balanced.
I can understand a PRESIDENT sending his kids to a better, more easily secured school.
But it isn’t because he’s president that he’s demanding different rules for his family - it’s because he’s an elitist.
Exactly right. Kudos. (Whatever kudos means).
And the reason that leftists and liberals cling to their political views is because of social anxieties. they are continuallyin a state of status panic. To accept reason and/or conservative ideas means a loss of social status. That’s it.
Never be surprised. This is exactly what you get when you have the media not doing their job. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Obama is heading down that path as no one is keeping him in check.
This idiot needs to be impeached yesterday.
If we apply Obama’s health care argument to schools... if public insurance is needed to keep private insurance honest, aren’t private school vouchers needed to keep public schools honest?
Sure sounds like “Two Americas” to me.
"All animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others." - Animal Farm
For God’s sake...
How long are we going to put up with this bastard and his cronies????
When are decent, moral, thinking people going to DO something about him???
Understatement of the year. The GOP should have a megaphone and be shouting what is happening. But we hear almost nothing.
Don’t hold your breath waiting for this to get legs. If a Republican were to bring this up, he/she asked if the administration would adhere to what we are suppose to accept, the government media would ask him/her if they would vow to go along with that policy. Typical do as I say, not as I do.
It's good enough for YOU, but it's NOT good enough for them.
Shut up and shovel another load of cow crap, peasant! There's WORK to be done!
Then I have to wonder how much you think, because they are lamer than I ever could have imagined. :)
Compare this thread with Steve Jobs Liver Transplant thread.
I want access to the same health care plan obi has for himself and his family. If I can’t have it, why not? Are they more important than my family?
I think we need to shove the “feudalism” concept to the forefront.
The more you examine the mindset of these fascists, the more you see that this is what they want for our country.
Nobles and peasants. They own and control everything, we live at their mercy.
Devinsky asked the president pointedly if he would be willing to promise that he wouldn't seek such extraordinary help for his wife or daughters if they became sick and the public plan he's proposing limited the tests or treatment they can get.The president refused to make such a pledge, though he allowed that if "it's my family member, if it's my wife, if it's my children, if it's my grandmother, I always want them to get the very best care."
It means he would extend his health care plan to his illegal alien Aunt Ditsy (or whatever her name is) and his many brothers living in poverty in Africa.
Imagine the most powerful man the world, huffing and puffing about protecting America and the world
but claiming helplessness in protecting the White House neighborhood public school to make it “safe” for his daughters
No one questions this logic. “safety” is not the major issue, regardless of what the democrats say
Not impeached - RECALLED.
The demonstration of elitism won’t sway the core democrat, because they are all elitist wannabes at heart. They won’t be swayed until they discover that they indeed are NOT elite - but then it will be too late.
You may, however, sway some of the more ignorant who voted for “the cool black guy”.
Republican’s should try to ammend the bill to say “It is illegal for any and all government employees (including elected officials and appointed officials) to receive healthcare outside of the public system. And that their names need to be masked when put on a waiting list for when services are scarce. Any attempt to circumvent the normal process to get better or quicker care is punishable by at a minimum 10 years in jail for all those involved—even those that just heard about it and didn’t report it.
That should pretty much kill this garbage bill.
They’re not lame, they’re compromised.
You can guarantee if Michelle was to get breast cancer she would be getting the very best care money can buy...the rest of us? Go to any Breast Cancer support message board and read the entries from the women in Canada to find out how your wives, mothers and daughters will be treated. Year long waits for MRI scans, denial of specific chemotherapies, etc...
All these Liberals who think socialized medicine is such a great idea (especially the women) really need to re-think their position.
It’s very easy to sit there and talk about how great socialized medicine will be when you are healthy...but when you have Cancer and are fighting for your life...perceptions tend to change real frigging quick.
It's the progressive vision of rule by "experts". The unwashed masses are too stupid to make their own decisions, that's why they need administrators dictators czars and the like to do the thinking for them.
Colors:
I'm gonna be a mighty king, so enemies beware! I've never seen a king of beasts With quite so little hair I'm gonna be the mane event Like no king was before I'm brushing up on looking down I'm working on my roar Thus far a rather uninspiring thing Oh, I just can't wait to be king! No one saying do this Now when I said that-- No one saying be there What I meant was-- No one saying stop that What you don't realize-- No one saying see here Now see here! Free to run around all day That's definitely out-- Free to do it all my way! I think it's time that you and I Arranged a heart-to-heart Kings don't need advice From little hornbills for a start If this is where the monarchy is headed Count me out Out of service, out of Africa I wouldn't hang about This child is getting wildly out of wing Oh, I just can't wait to be king! Everybody look left Everybody look right Everywhere you look I'm-- Standing in the spotlight Not yet Let every creature go for broke and sing Let's hear it in the herd and on the wing It's gonna be King Simba's finest fling Oh, I just can't wait to be king! Oh, he just can't wait to be king! Oh, I just can't wait... Just can't wait To be king!
That makes sense. The Fuhrer lives by a seperate standard than the rest of us peasants.
The premise behind Roe v. Wade was that the state does not have the right to interfere in the medical decisions of a patient and a doctor and further that the state cannot inquire into the medical conditions of citizens because of the RIGHT OF PRIVACY.
The implementation of a forced government controlled health care industry would involve a wholesale destruction of any notion of medical "privacy" as enunciated in Griswold v. Connecticut and Roe v. Wade.
Someone needs to start asking these congressmen and the president if they are now advocating that the constitutional "right of privacy" enunciated in Roe is no longer applicable to the states or the federal government?
Again, you get it. The average progressive peon either secretly lusts after the power of the elites for themselves (but usually settle for working on a HOA board or some grievance0-mongering busybody organization) or truly believe that they are too stupid to make their own life decisions and need a superior/Nanny State/National Father(*barf*)/”expert” to rule them.
That I sincerely believe. And I fear that some are compromised because their participation in the most despicable acts.
To me it is the only way to explain their votes in congress.
Just like all the limousine liberal elites.
