The InsideCatholic Summer Reading List 2009
Summer is in full wilt, and that means it's time for the InsideCatholic Summer Reading List. We've asked bloggers, staff, and writers to suggest a few titles they've recently enjoyed. They've obliged.
Have a look at the list -- you'll find something for every interest -- and then add your own recommendations in the Comments section below.

As a still suffering victim of the Catholic school reading list, I can only say that the list is filled with pretenious and boring books selected by pretenious, boring English teachers who force these books onto us because they are not entertaining nor good examples of “American” literature. In sense, these are books that no one would voluntarily read. And the people who do like them are pretenious and boring themselves. Did you know that “Moby Dick” is consistently in the Top Ten Boring Books of All Time by The Book of Lists? It’s a book about obession and inner demons. That’s all you need to know. Read Stephen King’s “The Shining.” It’s about the same thing. Then, see the movie...the original by Stanley Kubrick, not that lame re-make with that guy from Wings.
