Someone had a sense of humor to do that.

Well, they call it a 'high desert', and we have beautiful sunsets, as do you!

But, I cried for three years when I left your part of the country!

lots of sunflower seeds, some cat food, peanuts ..a treat mom usually gets to first. I put out some over the hill fruit this week and they licked the bowl clean.
No appearance yet tonight though I noticed the peanuts were eaten..probably while I was in the kitchen. I added some cat food.

Retrospective Resurrection

Dawn breaks in silent grace and golden hue
as the wind whispers of tales and history too
Sweet the song and sad the refrain I hear
of life of the strong overcoming their fear

Long shadows flit across the high places
and hold the eyes as the mind races
Alone and yet not, a crowd of just one
a soul looking for life and love and fun

You could cry the tears that seldom fell
each a memory with its own story to tell
And the breeze would dry the tears in time
then your soul would lift to life’s rhyme

A hawk dancing on the wind would cry out
and you could laugh, free at last to shout
The high places healed your tattered soul
and it was then that you felt at last whole

I remember the moments of sublime grace
and I minded not the tracks on my face
Strong enough to cry, weak enough accept
the saving touch of that oh so greater Adept

Dark times, too many to count have held me
so hard to overcome the pressures, I’d flee
To the healing silences of the waiting land
and the gentle touch of the Master’s hand

My time is nearly run, yet I seek only peace
keep your gold and fame, for me its release
I’ve seen the elephant and rode the river fair
and now I am patient as I lay my soul bare

My tale is wide and filled with colors bold
and happy am I that I saw the world unfold
Grant me the one last chance to stand again
in the high places, be it in sun or misty rain

I know not the future path I have yet to tread
but I will do so, head high without mortal dread
I walk not alone, never in all my many days
and that is my greatest treasure to carry away

LOL!
That's how I feel too Lady Jag. I think I liked the non stop rain better. I had to put on AC and the electric company loves over charging for this with additional surcharges etc. The humidity is awful. Humidity causes very bad hair days too! ;)

Homecoming
You will guide me with Your counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. —Psalm 73:24

One of my favorite pastimes as a boy was walking the creek behind our home. Those walks were high adventure for me: rocks to skip, birds to watch, dams to build, animal tracks to follow. And if I made it to the mouth of the creek, my dog and I would sit and share lunch while we watched the biplanes land across the lake.

We’d linger as long as we could, but only so long, for my father wanted me home before sunset. The shadows grew long and the hollows got dark fast in the woods. I’d be wishing along the way that I was already home.

Our house sat on a hill behind some trees, but the light was always on until all the family was in. Often my father would be sitting on the back porch, reading the paper, waiting for me. “How did it go?” he would ask. “Pretty good,” I’d say. “But it sure is good to be home.”

Those memories of walking that creek make me think of another journey—the one I’m making now. It isn’t always easy, but I know at the end of it there’s a caring Father and my eternal home. I can hardly wait to get there.

I’m expected there. The light is on and my heavenly Father is waiting for me. I suppose He’ll ask, just like my father used to, “How did it go?” “Pretty good,” I’ll say. “But it sure is good to be Home.”

He will be waiting for me—
Jesus so kind and true;
On His beautiful throne He will welcome me home—
After the day is through. —Vandall

Dry heat can also cause dehydration - and some are saying that Madonna is dehydrated (and may work-out too much).

I cannot post this picture - it is too scary - what do you think?

(Personally, I would rather be on the ‘fluffy’ side than look like that!)
