OH MY .... still raining. Isn’t that depressing?
It is 82 degrees at 10:30. It is too D... Hot.
We are going to the movies before swim lessons. It should be nice and cool .... when we come out the heat will probably kill me.
I was almost sick when we got home yesterday. Too many hours in that awful heat. Shade didn’t help much. We were at the pool for 2+ hours and then went to a park for a picnic. We were there for another hour and a half. Today we are going to Burger King after swimming. I’m looking for cool places to spend most of the day.
Hope you are having a Wonderful Wednesday.

No one’s seen it this bad in over 100 years. Not only is it messing with people’s heads but it’s doing a job on the economy in many ways.
T-storms rolling in so I’ll log off and run sopping wet cold errands.

What a charming poem and graphic, Billie and Amy Wishing you all a beautiful summer day. Thank you, Meg. YOUR graphic reminds me of summer camp when I was a kid; since we've never lived near water it was always such a treat going to camp, or going to the lake on vacation. :)

Well, HELLO, Sistah D! It is always so wonderful to see you drop in unexpectedly! Giz is incredible - I can’t believe his little back legs have improved so much at his age. I keep thinking any day when you give us an update on that little sweetheart, it’s going to be to say he’s up there romping with Rusty and Codee and Fred....and Dutchess. It sounds like he still rules at your house. :)

Such a sweet picture and cutesy little poem this morning. Sure do wish I felt sweet and cutesy! Been on phone with all sorts of insurance people and that is what absolutely drives me crazy! Sometimes I feel like my whole body is shaking. It will get better, I hope. I may not be on much today as I have to take care of several things. See yall when I can! Thank you, sweet friend. I wish you felt sweet and cutesy, too, 'cause you are! Take care of YOU!

Good afternoon, litehaus. I don't know where the picture was taken, but perhaps it could be the Crooked Creek you mentioned near Salem, Mo.
At any rate, it's nice to have you here today and interesting to hear the location looks familiar.
Welcome to Amy's Place! Hope you come back again.

***PRAYER REQUEST***
Hi all, I have an Aunt who has been ill since about Mother’s Day. She has been having what she believes is allergy related symptoms that have gone out of control. They are having more rain than normal in Colorado Springs where she lives, and there is more pollen etc in the air than other years. Her regular Doc has not been able to help her. She has now seen an ENT specialist who ordered and gave her a CAT scan, and just today, an MRI. My aunt is not one to complain and has been healthy as a horse most of her life. She has been a widow for nearly 7 years. My uncle died unexpectedly at the young age of 63. She has gotten through that loss, through her strong Christian faith. This illness she is suffering has her rattled, and she is not one who is rattled by much at all. I just phoned her a while ago and I promised to keep praying for her.
I ask you my Freeper Prayer Warriors, to join me in prayer, that my Aunt Mickey will be protected by Jesus and that The Lord will guide her doctors to the source of the problems she is having. She is so ill, she has been staying at the homes of her 2 sons and their families, since she is too ill to be alone at home. She gets horribly dizzy and feels off. The primary doc says it probably involves the inner ear.
The ENT specialist was just seen for the first time on Monday for the CAT scan, today was the MRI. She will not know the results of the MIR until she sees the ENT July 10th, a long time to wait if you ask me.
She is in her late 60’s and a go-getter. She still paints her own house, does all the yard and housework and helps with her 9 grandchildren. She was until not long ago, so strong and vital. Now I hear real fear in her voice. And if she is scared, that makes me know she needs all the help she can get. Add your prayers to mine please and send them to Jesus on her behalf. Thank you in advance for your kindness. Peace.

I agree!
I read two Tasha Tudor books to a three year old girl. One was "1 Is One" with her charming drawings and lines such as "1 is a one duckling swimming in a dish. 2 is two sisters making a wish." The other one was "Annabelle, Grandmother's doll." She loved them, and wanted them read again.

Dexter Dance

Not every single week, but when we have the chance
My Pretty One and I play a game she calls 'The Dexter Dance'
A special occasion for those times when I've been very good
That in my opinion should happen more often than it could
If not for those times when she comes home with bags dripping from her arms
Full of smaller bags and odd shaped boxes hiding treasured delights
That My Pretty One tries to quickly make safe and secure and out of sight
For these Pretty Things have special value, which I can understand
Yet, it is the forgotten soft and noisy paper that fits into my plans
For tackling and tumbling and rolling and slashing to my heart's content
While My Pretty One sleeps the night away and I'm in my element
Making slick and crinkly piles from wide thin and shiny sheets
That offer next to no traction for my silky hands and feet
When coming in for a four point landing after a dashing leap
Which usually ends in a crashing interruption to My Pretty One's sleep
And a late night scowl quickly informing me that I'm in trouble deep
Knowing that our next 'Dexter Dance' will suffer another slight delay
Until I can better inform My Pretty One of a Kitten's definition of 'Play'

Nature's Art

This clear wet stuff that's called "Rain" is rather strange, yet entertaining
Requiring lots of attention given to its brief time remaining
Since it seems to arrive unannounced and without any rhyme or reason
Falling gently or in great torrents depending on the season
While I'm watching warm and dry from my favorite perch, the Window Sill
As the wet drops touch the clear Window and seem to slowly spill
In lines that are quite irregular and very rarely straight
Unless one drop hits another and both then fall at a much faster rate
Which is quite intriguing and sometimes requires a different point of view
While the big plump drops hang by themselves creating something new
Sunlight slowly returns and everything Outside seems to shimmer
The big plump drops stretch the light to make the Window glimmer
Dividing my attention as the flowers Outside open up and appear to rise
I might need a nap to help digest what's been happening before my eyes

Oh, Conservvative Party, my heart goes out to your Aunt - and I hope the doctors can discover and successfully treat the cause. Prayers for your Aunt, and for you and her large, extended family. Please tell her she has extra prayers tonight.
And, if possible, remind her of Ps.46:10; “Be still and know that I am God.” He will calm her spirit, dear friend.

The Choice
Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat. Genesis 2:16-17
I watched as a young mother tried to get her 2-year-old child to make a choice. You can have fish or chicken, she told him. She limited his choice to just two because he was too young to understand beyond that. Choice often allows a wider variety of options, and it also must allow the person to reject the choices.
Adam and Eve were in the best possible environment. God had given them freedom to eat of all the trees in Eden. He drew the boundary lines around only one tree! They had a choice, and it should have been a no-brainer to choose wisely. But their choice was tragic.
Some blame God for what they see as His restrictions. They may even accuse Him of trying to control their lives. But God gives us a choice, just as He did Adam and Eve.
Yes, God draws boundary lines, but they are for our protection. David understood this. He wrote, You, through Your commandments, make me wiser than my enemies . . . . I understand more than the ancients, because I keep Your precepts. I have restrained my feet from every evil way, that I may keep Your Word (Ps. 119:98-101).
God cares so much about us that He gives us boundary lines so that we will choose what is right.
Lord, help us to obey Your Word,
To heed Your still, small voice;
And may we not be swayed by men,
But make Your will our choice. D. De Haan
Gods commandments were given to fulfill us, not to frustrate us.
