Sales of Michael Jackson's music have skyrocketed since he died suddenly last Thursday, returning the late pop star to the top-selling spot he held more than once during his career.
U.S. retailers sold 415,000 albums by Michael Jackson in the four days following his death, according to Nielsen Co.'s SoundScan, compared with fewer than 10,000 copies in the previous full week. More than half of those album sales were digital downloads made on services such as Apple Inc.'s iTunes and Amazon.com Inc.'s AmazonMP3.
In addition, the artist sold more than 2.3 million digitally downloaded songs since his death. That compares with 37,000 song downloads during the previous week.

Michael Jackson died?!!
Looks like he had to die in order to get out of debt.
Stopping spending often has that effect.
Sweet carreer move, but he stole it from Jimi, Janis and Jim.
and Elvis.
That song (”Rock With You”) is from the “Off the Wall” LP (1979). Be sure to check this one out too as it’s from the same album, but never charted. It’s my favorite song from the record:

Yeah .....rumor is he choked to death eating a baby goat. But don’t quote me on that
I heard it was food poisoning from eating 10 year old weiners.
‘Zackly.
I think Mikey would have appreciated it more if his “fans” were buying all of these CDs BEFORE he died.
Since his death, I’ve heard music I’d never heard before and some is quite amazing. Nothing beats Billy Jean, however. (Not the words, the music and video.)
Death as a career move.
Good career move.
Case in point, Elvis’s Graceland made 51 million last year, how many years after his death? Can you imagine what Never land could bring in?
MJ finished a promo video for his upcoming concert tour. It was finished just a few weeks ago and in the can and ready to show. How much do you think they can make on that? Millions

Hey, it worked for JFK.
A business model with a history of success.
A few days before his death I was cleaning out my office desk and ran into a Jackson 5 Greatest Hits CD. One of the first CDs I ever bought in the post album era. Forgot I even had it. But being that Ben, and ABC are songs that I just don't get into anymore I was going to place it in the coffee area with a post-it on it saying yours if you want it. I delayed doing that, and now glad I held onto it. I am thinking Ebay.
Is the world aware that MJ is likely a peophile? Is that just another reason he is adored by so many?
Wilco really sucks. I tried listening to them in college circa 1995/96 and they are just horrible, no-talent, neo-hippies.
Have you checked out eBay to see how these albums are selling? I’ve got my daughter’s old Victory Tour t-shirt but since it’s the Jackson’s tour, I don’t know if it’s worth anything.
I think after all the hype...this too will fade away. Feel sad for Michael as he lies dead somewhere and all this commotion is going on. It seems to me he said he never liked the public attention and was shy and quiet about all of it. So, they go ahead and make a big thing of it to me it is shameful. I call it exploitation. He led a sad life and it goes on even after he is gone. Unimaginable.
Rest in Peace Michael.
I have read the brit tab, The Sun’s, peice by J. Randy Taborrelli (a twenty plus year long friend of Jacksons).
MJ really did live a tragic life. Just the small snippets of his ‘father’ Joe Jackson, in the days since MJ’s passing, make me really believe the picture painted by Taborrelli. Michael, was hyper talented, hyper sensitive, and came from a physical and psychologically abused childhood. He was continually burned (no Pepsi reference...I am series!!!) by those closest to him; and he tried to live in his own ‘Neverland.’
I sincerely hope that Michael Jackson has finally found the peace he lacked so in life.
One tiny ‘plus.’ Apparently, he totally cut his father from his Last Will. Other than his three children, these procedes never go to those who created/destroyed him.
My dreams of retiring at 50 have been dashed to pieces. The exact CD I have is on Ebay from between 0.99 to 3.99.
The CD is called Michael Jackson - The Best of Michael Jackson. With early stuff such as; Got to be there, Ben, and Rockin Robin. Oh well, I guess I'll just give it to my 7-year old son. He preferes listening to my rock oldies versus the hip-hop which he calls dum-dum music.
What he did with those kids was not appropriate but now there are reports he was chemically castrated. There are also reports the kid whose parents went after Jackson is saying the charges were made up to get money off him. Who knows if these stories are true.
Maybe he was innocent of the charges like the courts found? Maybe he just was a weirdo with a generous heart and no common sense?
Regardless I don’t think he should have had kids in his bed that is just weird and messed up with or without actual perversion.
Looks like there are many of us trying to unload our MJ stuff. I’ll just hold on to the t shirt and see if either of my granddaughters want it. MJ was still Black in the picture.
