R O T F L M A O !!
The percentages of correct answers are scary.
Is this an open book test?
Graded on a curve. all studnts got an “A”
"But John Wright, the head of the state teachers union, the Arizona Education Association, dismissed the report as a "gotcha piece of writing.""
and
"Ronald Marx, the dean of the University of Arizona's College of Education, said he wasn't pleased to hear the findings but said he was more concerned than alarmed,"
Those two sentences reflect the reason for the sorry state of American education these days.
Tho the one time I’m sympathetic with bad test performance is with geography. And I don’t mean not being able to find Florida on the map.
Things like State capitals. Ugh.
Capital of Maine? Bangor! Nope.
Pennsylvania? Philadelphia! Nope
Can somebody please explain what these kids do in school all day. They rank poorly in International comparison tests in Science and Math and they don’t know basic facts about their own history. Maybe it’s time for less “projects” and more “rote” learning. 74% Didn’t know George Washington was the first President. So called “Education” in the US is a monstrous scam !!!!!
I got em all right but I can understand high school kids missing some of them....except for...”who was our first president”.
I’m Canadian and got 9/10 (missed the author of the BOR).
These questions are unfair. When the Community-Organizer-in-Chief and four out of nine Supreme Court justices don’t know any of the answers, how can we expect a high school student to know? [BTW, I got them all right.]
Public schools= Total loss......
i got them all right. my 14yr old only missed the one about the supreme court. he is refusing to believe that only 25% knew washington was the first president. he does however feel completely justified for missing the scotus question.
Shouldn’t the test be in Spanish?
Pretty darn good for a foreigner, eh?
:)
And it's biased...and not fair.

10. Who is in charge of the executive branch? The President.
I'm a Canadian and knew the answers to the above when I was 12.
Good for you, child! What grade are you in? ;-D
Yes about the sorry state of education. "More concerned than alarmed"? (????) He's not alarmed because the children who took that test will be good little malleable marxists and vote for dimmehcrats for life.
Oh I thot it was soros....
Mr. Condom meets Mr. Banana for most of the students.
Bonking the teacher for the advanced ones.
And coloring the poor Polar Bears dying from global warming with multicolored crayons to reflect their commitment to diversity.
Finally...hitting Mom & Dad up for money for school supplies because the schools are underfundedTM and The More You Know(R)(C) Pat. Pending
Cheers!
I see Arizona is turning out a bumper crop of future Zero supporters.
Nine out of ten is an ‘A’!
:)
I do remember some Virginians arguing that he DID write it!
This sort of quiz is deceptive. Usually it is given “cold”, and adolescents are both narrow minded, literally, and have been pumped full of other data recently, so their minds are not on the subject at hand.
The results would have been much more informative if the test had been on the “background” of the students knowledge. For example, several of these answers might be correct:
3. What are the two parts of the U.S. Congress?
a) Have you been taught about the U.S. Congress in class?
b) Do you know the answer to this question? (That is, they think they know the right answer, but just can’t think of the words.)
c) How long ago did you study government?
d) Do you have no idea about the answer to this question?
e) Are you busy thinking about something important right now?
For one to two years, normally.
Then after the election, they serve for six years.
10. Who is in charge of the executive branch? Answer: The president. correct 26 percent
I put B.Hussein Oblahblah and we know he's Pres_ent and not President.
At least I got the rest right.
Wow, amazing.... I remember struggling thru social studies/history, but for some reason it stuck in my brain somehow. I’m glad because I can teach my young daughter what they won’t teach her in school.

Capital of Maine? Bangor! Nope.
Pennsylvania? Philadelphia! Nope"
Yeah. But, Boy! do I love the states song. Even though I've never gotten the answer to:
What did Ida ho, boys, what did Ida ho.
Priceless, thanks
I’ve heard something about that too. Reminded when saw Ipberg answer. Is there any question?
Pretty freakin’ sad. My 7yr old could correctly answer these questions three years ago.
Well, it’s obvious that we have to triple the amount we’re already spending on education, and quadruple the salaries of NEA teachers. We have to have video game consoles at every desk, and giant plasma screens in every classroom, hallway, lounge area and rest room.
Our kids deserve no less.
