EXCLUSIVE: $25 Charge To Attend Michael Jackson Memorial Posted on Jul 02, 2009 @ 03:15PM

Fans who wish to attend Michael Jackson's star-studded memorial service at Staples Center will have to shell out $25 to sit in the stands, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.

Family, friends and VIPS will have seats on the main floor for The Tuesday, July 7th Staples service, first reported by RadarOnline.com, while the general public will be plucking down $25 to sit in the stands.

The memorial service will feel like a concert production featuring guest speakers, a lot of music and video screens inside and outside of Staples, a source close to the planning tells RadarOnline.com.

Michael Jackson's close friend Elizabeth Taylor is expected to attend, along with Diana Ross.

T-shirts that were going to be sold on Michael's upcoming "This Is It" tour will not go to waste. They will be sold outside Staples to people entering the service.

The service will be held between 10am PST and noon PST. The Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey circus will be on standby, literally. The circus act just happens to be in town and is slated to begin their run at the Staples Center from July 8 to July 11.

"We will not be taking part in the memorial service," spokesperson Stephen Payne confirmed. "We are prepared to make any logistical changes with equipment and such to help out."

Wouldn’t that be plunking down, not plucking down.

But then you just never know.

Jackson funerally ought to be something to see.

Mac Daddy Joe isn’t getting shit. Left out of the will. Notice he hasn’t been out and about since that announcement.

Of course, he will reap benefits as long as Katherine is alive since she gets 40%. Her share probably reverts back to the kids when she dies. At least I hope so.

They can open Neverland and put the Jacksons on the payroll to keep it up.

I don’t have a problem with this being the most grandiose tackey funeral ever in history.

It would be befitting Michael Jackson.

So is Jack Nicholson getting floor seats for this thing?

LOL! If it were Madison Square Garden, Spike Lee would definitely have the floor seats.

Before they decided on Staples, I joked they were going to do it like the Lakers championship rally, rent the Memorial Coliseum and get the Lakers broadcasters Joel Meyers and Stu Lantz to emcee.

Now you're going to hear my tinfoil theory. In the last six months he has been trying to pull away from the NoI that had infiltrated his life. Fired the nanny. Spent time with some friends who were gospel singers, Rehired his old lawyer etc etc.
Don't think they were pleased with that...and the infidel had to go!

Have been trying to see who was involved with NoI and/or brother, Jermaine. Don't thing Bro was directly involved, but used to get to him.

The problem is that the LAPD did not seal off his mansion.

It will be hard to ever get a conviction at this point.

I forsee the irresponsible Drs who gave the prescriptions getting into a lot of trouble.

Here is an interesting article about the concert side of this. I believe AEG owns Staples Center. If it is a drug related death the insurance company doesn’t pay.

AEG owns the intellectual rights to the recordings they made. So how does the estate benefit from them?

Dang, why charge just $25.00.

Anybody who would want to go the MJ funeral certainly would be willing to pony up at $50.00

I bet MJ dad is thinking $25.00 is a act of humanity < / s >

Man, I commented under my breath yesterday that they would charge.

Have these people no shame?

How did MJ pass a 5 hour battery of tests with flying colors????

The state of his body shows he was a long term addict. He couldn’t have just stopped taking the meds.

The whole thing stinks to high heaven.

A very small part of me actually gets the feeling he’s not dead, and this is all a gimmick to kick off the “This Is It” tour? He was rehearsing at the Staples Center, and now the memorial service will be there — and it’ll be like a concert more than a memorial service? And they’re charging folks?!

He did a lot of strange things over the years, and those closest to him confess he did them just as gimmicks. He was weird enough to try something this wacky...

The LAPD Tuned it immediately over to their burglary/homicide department and took several bags/boxes of material out of the mansion....They also took several pictures....Maybe they thought they had enough with the autopsy.

Yes, I think we will see that the Dr(s) cause his death and will be held accountable.

Who is AEG? There is so much material on the web now, I've been unable to see who the money/backers are? Do they have a connection with anyone in NoI? Or any of the other people around Mjj?

They should have an open casket Micheal in the middle of the stage, and at the end do a live re-enactment of the “Thriller” video, with zombies dancing around the coffin.

You don’t really think it’s for the children do you? I’d bet this is Joe’s idea.
