HI, Im Judy Nichols. Welcome to my rant.
Thus was born Rantings of a Crazed Soccer Mom, the blog of a stay-at-home mother and murder-mystery writer from Wilmington, N.C. Mrs. Nichols, 52, put up her first post in late 2004, serving up a litany of gripes about the Bush administration and people who thought they had a monopoly on morality. After urging her readers to vote for John Kerry, she closed with a flourish: Practice compassionate regime change.
The post generated no comments.

LOL! But as the article pointed out, most blogs do go inactive fairly quickly. The main reason, I think, is boredom. I've started 3 blogs and quit posting to 2 of them simply because they couldn't maintain my interest. The one active blog I have had for almost 5 years is the DUmmie FUnnies. The reason is that I am constantly amused and entertained by DUmmie behavior.
The NYT in its death throes, trying to convince itself everything’s going to be alright. LOL!
Yep, with literally millions of web sites and blogs out there, it’s hard to keep up with all of them, and for people to keep them going.
I enjoy coming here and some other sites, but, there’s only 24 hours in a day, and we all have to live our lives too. There’s only so much time to devote to things like this.
Bottom line, you have to be really, REALLY interested in a topic to continue blogging on it for an extended period of time.
Very interesting, and bloggers can learn from this. Keep tehm active, even if two people are reading. We need every outlet we cna get.
I agree. Most blogs cease to exist, or go dormant, because the blogger gets tired of posting or doesn’t have as much time to devote to it as they thought they would. There are plenty of readers out there, and the bloggers who stick with it and don’t take long breaks from posting continue to grow and steal readers from the MSM rags. I can see why the NYT would want to convince people that blogs are doomed to die out though. Poor dumb sobs. Haven’t they run out of assets to sell yet?
Are you an artist? Because I have an idea for a cartoon.
The DUmmies are an infinite source of material, aren’t they?
I blog because I don’t keep a hard copy journal anymore.
Someday, if DSL reaches teh wilderness where my parents live, they might be able to check out my blog.
So, it’s a way to remember the daily wackiness here and also keep in touch. Works for me.
I suggest we take a pass on African Press International.
Nope. Just a comix writer.
Kept my blog going for a year. An Obamaite storm trooper blogger read it and found out who I was and tried to get me fired from my job for the content I posted. I in turn published the url for this idiot’s blog and my loyal readers deluged him with less than flattering letters. Turned out okay in the end.
I still update the blog but don’t write as much as I used to. Still a good place to vent.
Yup! And I can always check out their Astrology forum if I really need some FUnnie material.
A flourish, hmm? The proper response when a turd hits the water with a plunk is to flush it. Vox populi, honey.
Perhaps both? Soulmate personality traits?
