By June 19, 2009, all 50 states in the United States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands have reported novel H1N1 infection. While nationwide U.S. influenza surveillance systems indicate that overall influenza activity is decreasing in the country at this time, novel H1N1 outbreaks are ongoing in parts of the U.S., in some cases with intense activity.

I can't see how the CDC can say that the swine flu activity is decreasing in the U.S. Take a look at the weekly updates: a 37% increase in cases over the last two weeks, and this in the summertime! What will happen when the flu season arrives in the fall? Just imagine how this will affect are economic activity. The newspapers are ignoring the outbreaks, even though it is officially a pandemic. Why would Wisconsin lead the nation in number of cases?

I'm much more afraid of the vaccine Sebelius is cooking up than I am of the virus. I hope they will not try to force all our children to be guinea pigs and have it before they can enter school in the fall.

I will refuse if they try to make my kids get it. I’d rather homeschool! I suspect we had a bout of it here a couple weeks ago. Husband and son were sicker than they had been in a long time- coughs (son’s led to bronchitis), high fevers, body aches, and GI problems. The girls and I were somewhat less sick, but most of us had coughs..and then the fevers ranged.

I believe Wisconsin is also leading the nation in testing for swine flu. Makes you wonder how many people have had it and not been tested. I know several people with the symptoms, including my wife, but they chose not to seek medical help thinking it will go away on its own, which it eventually did.

Not wishing to minimize this flu for those who did get it, but I still think this is all a part of a conspiracy to force Obamacare on us. Scare the population, tell it that the only hope is government, and people will allow more government control at all levels.

This first herald wave hasn’t crested yet and the 2nd wave may begin before the first wave ends.
In 1918 the first wave was mild.

I don't think it is a conspiracy, but I DO KNOW that they won't let this “crisis go to waste”.

Yes, it has about knocked it out too. I’m 90% well. Going in to work tonight for the first time in 4 days.
Thanks for the well wishes.
