Extensions/add-ons are a nice feature of Firefox, but whenever they upgrade the main program, many of the extensions no longer work.
I tried 3.5.1 earlier today and only 3 of my dozen extensions were compatible with it.
I dumped it and went back to 3.0.

I still have the very annoying, although infrequent, problem of when I click on a tab, the page opens in a new window (instead of right where the tab is). It doesn’t happen often, but still it’s a pain in the neck. And it doesn’t seem to matter what the website or page is when it happens. I was hoping this new update would have solved the problem. Anyone else having the same trouble?

Open firefox. On upper right you will see the “help” tab. Click it and select “check for updates”

The Real Player video download plug-in will not work with 3.5.

Thanks, but I did mean tab. It only happens on rare occasions when I attempt to open a tab. 9 times out of 10 the tab will open as it should (in the same multi-tab window, not in a brand new window). I checked the long list of reported bugs on the Mozilla site I linked to above and couldn’t find anything that sounded like it, although most of the bug descriptions were incomprehensible.

I’m disgusted with Firefox. I upgraded one of my PCs and now Firefox is allowing advertisers to pop-up but it is more like a new Firefox is starting and it is going to some advertiser’s website. Really sucks.

Im disgusted with Firefox. I upgraded one of my PCs and now Firefox is allowing advertisers to pop-up but it is more like a new Firefox is starting and it is going to some advertisers website. Really sucks. It sounds completely atypical. Check your settings (Tools, Options, Content, "block popup windows"). Try add-ons "Adblock Plus" and "NoScript" also.

The FF 3.5.1 page has this on it Firefox 3.5 is the first browser to support open video formats, allowing movies to become part of todays dynamic web pages without requiring a plug-in. Is that helpful info?

Apples and oranges. The Real Player download plug-in feature allows one to save web videos to one’s hard drive.
I use it to archive videos, not play them.
Thanks for your response.
