Palin Hairdresser: NYT Was Lying About "Hair Thinning" Claim
By Tim Lindell
Chalk this up as Stupid Palin Meme of the Week:
In a July 12th hit piece published on the front page of the New York Times, reporters Jim Rutenberg and Serge Kovaleski (assisted by Kim Severson and William Yardley in Alaska) made the following claim:
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Friends worried that she appeared anxious and underweight. Her hair had thinned to the point where she needed emergency help from her hairdresser and close friend, Jessica Steele.
Honestly, I think all of it just broke her heart, Ms. Steele said in an interview at her beauty parlor in Wasilla, the Beehive.
This tidbit was seized upon and has bounced through the Internet and blogosphere -- a Google search for "Palin hair thinned" now returns nearly 400,000 hits. Lefties such as Eleanor Clift seized on it as some kind of meme that Palin can't handle stress.

Vanity as in: this is pretty picky by the MSM and bloggers to be reporting this (eyes rolling). Now the hairdresser is pissed...seems the NYT put words in her mouth (so what else is new).
The Grey Lady is just jealous.
The Grey Lady could try Preference by L’oreal...
Beautician should contact NYT, write an editorial, demand a retraction. She should at least insist they correct their mistake on the page number that coincide with the article....front page for front page etc.
I know by 18-plus years of experience that maintaining a routine of regular heart-thumping lapswim workouts makes a tremendous difference in how I handle stress. It calms the mind and puts things into perspective.
Only her hairdresser knows for sure.
When the Libs reach and talk about hair, you know they are running out of bashing material.
It ranks with L Ron Paul saying Palin is a Country Club Republican.
Yeah, waiders and hip boots, trainers and jogging shorts,
Has there ever been a politician so viciously attacked as Sarah? Day after day, in print, online, on tv, radio hit pieces directed from the WH and “zero’s” minions.
I am with you. Times, WaPO, etc. need to be called on this crapOla everytime.
So how do we get the job done....The truth out? Her twitters are only going to heard by a few who are already loyal to Sarah.
Yes, she is attacked daily and mercilessly. By George Soros’ money, may his black heart burn in hell. Make that ‘roast.’
Why in the world would this site bother with dribble like this?
I meant the Conservatives4Palin site.
It’s a little amateurish.
The People are growing tired of it.
There is a core of adult Conservative talkshow people who are good at this. Just by callers exposing this, it makes it way to these Lib rags. Just the blog Conservatives4Palin gets the ball rolling
Oh contraire....this isn’t dribble, but a fine example on how void the MSM is today. It’s a good laugh when they now have to talk about someone’s hair and not their policies.
Also GOP lady, you need to take a look at the site conservatives4palin.com. It’s a good resource.
While some people on the blogosphere were grumbling and crying “woe is me”, some sites were doing the dirty work exposing the lies of the MSM, exposing the backstabbing shallowness of the Romney faction, exposing the ones waging the bogus ethics complaints and PROMOTING SARAH....not to metion hawking/promoting her pac and defense funds!!!!!
Conservative4forplin is on the forfront of this battle.
Kovaleski, who majored in philosophy at William & Mary, began his career in journalism at the Miami News in the mid-1980s, after spending some time after College studying and traveling in Europe.

Dishonest little creep!
Kim Severson joined the New York Times in 2004. She writes about food and cultural trends.
Previously, she was a food writer and editor at the San Francisco Chronicle
"The moderator was Kim Severson, a staff writer for the Dining section of The New York Times.
I am 99 percent confident she was chosen because she is an out lesbian, but I knew she was going to be an excellent fans representative when she began the talk by asking What the hell?! in response to the ending of the sixth season."
The media won’t be happy until she’s hospitalized.
It’s not such a bad thing. Trust me. I was a Democrat. The media’s constant trashing of George W. Bush pushed me to do some things that culminated in my becoming first a Republican and then a conservative. It happens.
C’mon, piper! Do your worst!
Blow your pipe till you burst!
Perhaps they did it to mock the NYT’s desperation. You have to be pretty desperate to talk about a woman’s hair, for crying out loud!
Of course that’s why they did it, but you don’t want to bother with the most ridiculous stuff. Things like this, you just let go.
Oct 29, 2006 ... “Suburban mom” leads in Alaska governor race. By William Yardley
There is an amazing letter circulating in the blogosphere that appears to be written by Anne Kilkenny of Wasilla, Alaska, probably William Yardleys Ann Kilkenny, a Democrat who said she attended every City Council meeting in Ms. Palins first year in office [as mayor]. . . . and who is frequently quoted by the Frontiersman and Anchorage Daily News.

Wasilla author of viral Palin e-mail earns special recognition from Alaska Press Club
ANCHORAGE A stay-at-home mom from Wasilla whose email information about Alaskas governor took on an Internet life of its own during last years presidential campaign has won a Special Recognition award from the Alaska Press Club.
Kilkenny is a graduate of UC Berkeley and a former delegate to former Gov. Frank Murkowskis Conference of Alaskans
She cited in particular a team of Associated Press reporters who came to Alaska during last years election campaign. She also singled out New York Times writer William Yardley
May 14, 2008 ... By William Yardley. “Here in Alaska, where melting arctic ice and eroding coastlines have made global warming an urgent threat
William Yardley’s Sunday piece, “Active Role for Palin’s Husband In Alaska Government.” In voting to issue a subpoena to Todd Palin
New York Times - by William Yardley - Sep. 3, 2008 (Special Report). For all the admiration in Alaska for Ms. Palin, her rapid ascent from an activist
By WILLIAM YARDLEY Alaska officials are investigating e-mail messages that included racist jokes about President-elect Barack Obama and were circulated
The more they bash her, the more I love her. I don't care if she's bald! You can judge a person by how great and numerous their enemies are. Ms Palin is great! Her enemies are my enemies.
Posts such as yours give me hope, something that I’m sorely in need of these days.
Libs just can’t stand a beautiful, all American moral woman.
I’m happy to help. It seems to me that between 0bama’s (in)actions, Palin’s charisma and the vitriol of his minions/her enemies, the country is ripe for the picking - her picking, to be specific.
I have no idea whether or not "Tweetie" is Sarah Palin's hairdresser, but I know that the New York Times will spin and lie in order to advance its liberal agenda, and IMO the average Twitter poster is straightforward and honest. So we have reached the point where a pseudonymous Twitter poster is actually more credible to me than the New York Times.
No wonder Walter Cronkite died.
Lawyers out there? Doesn't Steele have a cause of action?
Something I'd like to see on Sarah's inauguration day "Dave Letterman, I know where you live...just kidding!"
Dont ask for the long medical explanation.
I am not in the mood.
Anyone on or off the Palin ping, write me.
Just go away Romneybot. I can imagine you are right now holding a NYT in your hands laughing heartily over the article.
That’s Al Franken!
It’s official, when they send reporters to Alaska to dig dirt and they don’t find dirt they make it up........ trouble is they barked up the wrong hairdresser — which all of us could have told them since we’ve seen this lady interviewed and she thinks too highly of Sarah to dish on her to the Times or anyone else.
They are so jealous of Sarah Palin that it’s pathetic!
I would say they should be ashamed of themselves but I don’t think they even know what that means!
Yes, it’s the same bunch of trash that has been filing one right after the other. The trash should have to pay her legal bills! They are connected to the RAT leadership who is pushing it.
They certainly should.. the AK legislature should amend their laws to make plaintiff pay if they lose frivolous suits.
The lie is exposed...you don’t get between a hair-dresser and her client. Ha! My money is on Jessica.
Come on, GOP Lady, you've been around here long enough to know what has been going on, especially since your boy Mitt and his minions have been helping spread the manure.
Don’t waste your time with GOP Lady. She’s a committed Romneyite. We know her well around here.
No surprise that the NYT used its front-page, above-the-fold column to propagandize against Sarah.
However — playing devil’s advocate for a moment — could the NYT not respond by saying “Well, but Ms. Steele did say that ‘I think it broke her heart’ and friends did say Sarah ‘appeared anxious and underweight.’”?
Did Sarah’s friends say these things or not? I have no doubt the NYT either lied outright or took statements out of context; but Sarah knows what game is being played, so she needs to alert her friends (just as she has alerted her family) about making statements of any sort to the mainstream media.
