Rosalie James' dance partner has two left feet - or make that paws. And two right ones. James and her 7-year-old Australian Labradoodle Rocky are champion canine freestylers. She also helped to organize the Rio Grande Canine Freestylers, an Albuquerque, N.M., group of doggie dancers. James says your pooch doesn't have to be a wall flower. She says just about any dog can learn to dance. All it takes is practice and patience. She tells the Albuquerque Journal the most important thing about dancing with dogs is to have fun.

Unless it can do the Lindy Hop and Moonwalk, I am not impressed.
Useless without video
1. In our effort to anthropomorphize our pets further, we now have “doggie dancing.”
2. Don’t do damage to your obliging doggy’s back (by making it stand on two feet “dancing”). I suggest if you wish to dance with a living creature, find a human partner.
Agreed. Anyone who buys a Labradoodle also wants to buy a “designer” dog to name drop and put on airs. Buy a Labrador or a Poodle.
...And by “you,” I don’t mean the OP! I should have said “a person.”

—It doesn’t seem much different than other forms of specialized training. Many breeds of dog are happiest when they are well-trained and have a job to do.
2. Dont do damage to your obliging doggys back (by making it stand on two feet dancing). I suggest if you wish to dance with a living creature, find a human partner.
—It may not always be so, but in the performances I’ve seen the dog remains on four legs, for the most part. The dog is turning, weaving back and forth around the human, and performing graceful movements that complement the dance steps the human is doing. Looked harmless enough.
Thanks for the clarification! I had imagined the worst.
Impressive. But if it was a French Poodle I would expect Apache dancing. (PETA would be angry)

Isn’t that neat? I wonder how many dogs are trained to do it, and not just this one Golden.
Then, there's this...not sure if it's dancing............
I just watched the video of this dog five times.
Can’t stop smiling. What a terrific animals and
kudos to the trainer.
Yes. What strikes me most is what looks like the utter devotion of the dog, Rookie. And Carolyn Scott looks just as devoted to him.
