I experience the same thing when I explain this to liberals. Though liberals like to use the terms fascist, Nazi, Hitler over and over again most have no clue whatsoever about the actual history. Talk about the Pact between the Nazi's and the Soviets. Talk about how the Communist party in Germany and the Brownshirts were virtually identical. Talk about how Hitler was an artist and a homosexual and how Ernst Rohm( the leader of the Brownshirts) and all the commanders of the Brownshirts were homosexuals.
Talk about how the Nazi's confiscated private property and how Hitler attacked the corporate leaders and promoted class warfare in Germany. It may take a little reading to get the background but I assure you that although I never raise my voice while three or four of these people are screaming at me at once I have never lost a single argument to these people. And a few of them actually seek out my opinion of the liberal orthodoxy now and then.
