I know what you mean, but Contador is Lance Armstrong 12-14 years ago in so many ways. Better climber, though, than Lance was pre-cancer.

Tour de France winner Alberto Contador on Monday launched a stinging attack on teammate Lance Armstrong, saying relations between the two were tense throughout the race.

"My relationship with Lance is non-existent. Even if he is a great champion, I have never had admiration for him and I never will," the Spaniard told a news conference in Madrid.

[snip] ..."It was a delicate situation, tense, the two riders who had most weight on the team did not have an easy relationship and that puts the rest of the technical staff and the riders in an uncomfortable position," said the 26-year-old Contador, who also won the Tour in 2007.

Well, guess that settles the question about where AC will or at least won't be riding next year!

Actually, Contador's story parallels LA's in many ways. The guy had a brain aneurysm and came back from that. IF he's clean, he has a chance to be one of the greatest cyclists of all time... IF. He's won all 3 grand tours. He's young. He climbs and TT's.

And frankly, he kept his yap shut during the Tour when clearly he was totally pissed the entire time. (He's no longer keeping his yap shut though.)
