Interesting item to note:

There have been no Atlantic hurricanes thus far for 2009. What does Al Gore have to say about that?

It was reported on the Weather Channel the other day the number of Hurricanes during July is typically very low but more than double in August.

Ah, you don’t understand the Church of Climate Change and the Encyclicals of Pope Al I “The Gorean”. Global warming has three possible effects on the number of hurricanes. It can cause more. It can cause the same number. It can cause fewer.

What any moron would say.

It’s the global warming that’s
causing no hurricanes.

I thought Al was sure that if we didn’t enact sweeping changes (and we haven’t) that we’d all be dead by now, baked or drowned or some such? . . . Hmm, I feel fine except for what the government is trying to do to us. Guess Al was wrong, no surprise there. Anyone spouting a line of “We must act now, there’s no time for reasoned debate! Do it! Do it!” is selling you a bill of goods. Kind of like obama and porkus, health care, deficits . . .

Of course there are no more hurricanes. George W. Bush isn't president any more.

“Like I’ve been saying all along... Global climate change doesn’t mean the hurricanes are getting worse or that the world is getting warmer.... It just means the climate is changing. So the fact that there are no hurricanes this year just proves that the climate is changing.”

There have been no Atlantic hurricanes thus far for 2009. What does Al Gore have to say about that?

The one universal constant is global warming. If the global warming doesn't fit into the science, change the science.

In the absence of the predicted increases in both the number and strength of hurricanes, I have read that as least one 'scientist' had now come to the conclusion that maybe global warming, in fact, decreased both the number and strength of hurricanes.

Just remember, global warming is the one universal constant and you'll understand today's climate science.

Can anyone list even one of the global warmers predictions that have come true?

We've been having afternoon thunderstorms every day throughout the summer here on the east coast of Florida.

It's been my unscientific observation that the years we have normal afternoon storms are the years we have few hurricanes.

And in the years we don't have afternoon storms are the years we get a lot.

As I said, this is purely my unscientific observation. Or I could have just dreamed it.

Very true but the chart only proves no hurricanes during July is not an anomaly considering the average is only .5 for the month.

Heh - I think a group of FReepers-in-disguise got him into a game of Freeze Tag, and now nobody will "un-freeze" him... :-)

BTW, last I heard, central Indiana was on track to logging the coldest July on record EVER!

Hurricanes by month since 1851:

The average for July is less than 1.
