A new report surfaces by the hour that Mel Gibson has attacked a fan during a night out partying at a club in Los Angeles on Wednesday, July 28. Hollyscoop claims the actor was seen arriving at Playhouse to celebrate the venue's grand opening party with the companion of pregnant girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva and a group of people.

I bet “the Jews” provoked him.

Proving yet again, fame and fortune are the bane of happiness.

Mel is getting to be as crazy as Russell Crowe, but he still has a way to go.

What do you expect from a adulterous creep from Hollyweird who set up his own Church and made himself Pope?
Talented filmmaker (see Apocalypto), but a very strange man.

Ah, us guys really love that free sex stuff. And the “ladies” let us get away with it. Dumb.

Despite being a “Catholic”, he has cherry picked his own priest and has his own church. Wonder what the Padre has to say about this?

It’s hard to believe he was behind the Passion given all the Commandments he seems to be breaking.
To: Perdogg
It would have been one thing if he'd just attacked him. But to reportedly attack him, that's unacceptable.
To: Clemenza
I don't know. I've always like Mel, so I find this whole thing with his wife and pregnant girlfriend, etc. to be just very sad.
I do not get pleasure watching a human being self-destruct in public.
To: Perdogg
According to the story, Mel was out with his girlfriend, and a female came and took pictures of them. The nightclub took the camera and deleted the pictures, and sent the female away. So the female sent a male friend down to take pictures, and when Mel saw him taking pictures, Mel attacked him.
That sounds like a not altogether unreasonable response.

He makes money off of being famous; he has to pay the price.
This was a public place, not his house or somesuch.

Not quite “public”, the club was privately owned, but open to the public; the club apparently had the right to take the girl’s camera and erase the pictures. Gibson should have let the club handle the picture-takers.
To: Perdogg
A fan? Very misleading headline. According to the story.....
“Inside the hot spot, Mel and his companion sat on the VIP booth. It was during the time that a reporter of Life and Style magazine posing as a fan tried to snap a picture of him and Oksana. His security quickly took the camera from the unidentified female reporter and deleted the pictures.
However, she didn’t give up that easily and sent her male friend to take another picture of Mel and his entourage. His action drew Mel mad that he immediately “stepped in and attacked the clubgoer because he was fed up with everyone trying to snap a photo of him partying.” Hollyscoop quoted its source as stating, “Mel approached the guy who tried to take his picture and ripped his shirt.”
That’s puts a very different light on what happened and who was involved.

I’ll bet the divorce cost him a lot more than $500,000. He knocked down hundreds of millions from the Passion, and was very well off before that.

Mel’s wife got far more than half a million. Believe the number is somewhere in the millions. (And I’m not sure there was a pre-nup.)

Yes! I meant to say
half a billion! Five hundred
million divorce bucks!
If you're gonna go
that route, annoy half your fans,
lose half your money,
why would a guy go
that route with a non-looker,
non-singer "singer?"
To: Perdogg
Read the article. It wasn’t a “fan” it was paparazzi, and they were laready warned once.
To: theFIRMbss
>Yes! I meant to say half a billion! Five hundred million divorce bucks!
Mel Gibson's billion-dollar divorce: How bad will it be for him?
Its a billion-dollar divorce!" says celebrity divorce lawyer Raoul Felder.
Yesterdays headlines that Mel Gibson, 53 and his wife Robyn Moore, also 53, were filing for divorce after 28 years of marriage has now been eclipsed by a handful of thornier follow-up questions. Namely, how much will the split cost the A-lister? How will it affect his reputation? Will it jeopardize the projects he has in development? And perhaps, most tantalizing of all, will it be the costliest celebrity divorce ever?
In short, the answers are: lots, remains to be seen, not likely, and almost certainly yes.
With no indication that the couple had hammered out a prenuptial agreement before their 1980 wedding, Gibsons low-profile wife is now legally entitled to half of everything hes earned over their nearly-three decades together, according to Felder, which could translate into roughly $500 million. ...

I always suspected Mel didn’t like the Jews, but now he’s attacking fans too? This guy better start working on his people skills.

And then get up Sunday morning and attend mass at the church I built myself because I’m more catholic than the pope- with children who I raised under strict religious rules.
I’m sure it’ll have no affect on them whatsoever.

Sad to watch Mel meltdown. Still he’s no worse than most of those rotten dirtbags. At least he’s nice to the people on set and not a complete @sshole like Alec Baldwin and similar creeps.

The police have said that he didn’t do it, the person made up the story.
To: Perdogg
The police have said that the ‘victim’ made up the story and that Gibson couldn’t have possibly touched the guy.
To: sarasota
Pre-nup? I'm pretty sure he met his wife when he was still a struggling actor in Australia. They have been married for something like 28 years. At that point, I'm pretty sure they were'nt thinking about pre-nups.
However, I agree that his wife had to have gotten more than 500,000. Double-digit millions would be my guess, and considering his prior (and apparently current) drinking and womanizing, plus (how many) kids, she earned every penny.
