I wonder what they wound up doing with that building? At least the Turks were trying to bring their building down.

Don't know... I'll be back in Shanghai in about 2 weeks, and my apartment over there is 2 km North of that building that toppled. I'll walk by and see what's up! But it's probably been broken in to rubble by now, with the land being reworked to start again.

A structure that topples and lands intact should be the subject of serious inquiry as to the reason for its architectural integrity.

Yes sir! We often make fun of the quality of products from the 3rd world (China and Turkey included), but here we've seen that construction can actually be overkill! Consistency is the biggest problem...
